last year i was at the show in romsey, but plan to go to this one this year, gonna take the tent for the weekend. starting to lose interest in the 1 day shows well the uxbridge one its getting smaller each year with an increase in modern stuff both in stands and stalls

yesterday i felt me back go, but it seemed ok during the day, an occassional bit of pain. got up this morning tokk a few steps and its worse. put some spray on it which after about 1/2 hour it felt better. went shopping and when i got back had to lean on the sill to get out. put some more spray on but looks like i wont be there. i don't think camping will do it a lot of good. even changing gear or using the handbrake was uncomfortable.  :( :(

Take it easy Dave. Look after yourself mate.
We haven't really done any shows for a couple of months now. Just been too busy doing other things. Taz is working all this weekend & I desperately want to catch up with my Pop project, so it's a day in the workshop on Sunday for me. If anyone's at a loose end though, I'd recommend this event. A nice little afternoon out at a traditional country/steam show.

Chin up Dave - there's worse things than staying home on Bank Hols - you don't have to deal with all that traffic!  With living in a tourist area, me and Mike usually choose to stay home on B Hols!

a mate is going to the egham show on sat and sun so gonna cadge a lift to that. if the back is feeling better on monday might see if he's up for a drive to rudgwick and go in on my pass. the spray is starting to ease it now. typical get nice weather after a long spell of poor weather and the back gets screwed.the egham show is only about a mile from me.

I'd originally planned to go, then planned to work on my Pop instead. Now it looks like I'll have to give Tanya a hand at the stables instead cos she's got 3 new horses moving in this weekend & loads to do before they arrive. So we'd be ever so, ever so grateful if you could be roving MMMotors reporter for the day Dave.  :-*

Not sure there's enough there for a whole weekend, but it's high on my "Nice little afternoon out" list.

met chevy rick and jj there, was a good day out. like andy sez not really enough to keep you there for the whole of the weekend though. didn't get to see much of what was going on at dunsfold. a spit and hurri flew over and saw a tornado or summat like that doing it's thing there. just sorting the pics, not too much hassle with the back  :)

JJ and I went to this event and got there about 10ish.  We were lucky with the weather and it stayed dry all the time we were there.  Just a we left the heavens opened.  Influence or what!  ;D

Never been to this event before and JJ wasn't sure about another steam event just before the Great Dorset Steam Fair next week but it turned out pretty good with loads to see.  Compared well with the White Waltham event from a couple of weeks ago anyway.

Not that many cars were there but Manky and Victory Wheelers were represented by at least Dave (Renegade) with his Triumph 2000, and Calvin with his black Ford pickup and Harley. Plenty of commercial vehicles, tractors and fire engines were on show and what was nice, was most vehicles got their chance to show off in the arena with some detailed commentary.

Obviously there were plenty of steam engines and associated machinery such as threshers, wood cutters and lathes.  There was also a good representation from the stationary engine brigade.

Plenty of stalls.  Many were craft related but there was also plenty of jumbly if you looked around.  JJ managed to pick up a manual for her A30 and a nice new trolley jack for when she needs to get out and get under!  :D

JJ's pick of the vehicles.  She fell in love with this:

I don't remember Royal Blue coaches getting into a drift on bends like this when I was a lad.   ???  This one was too fast for me to capture on frame!

Buying the bus you used to drive when you retire is a nice idea I think.
Is that steam car a Stanley Steamer? They were so famous they wrote a song about them.

Ain't it a shame nobody bothers about style any more.
