Title: Brake system help and advice needed Post by: geordi on January 24, 2010, 10:28:43 AM Guys I'm thinkind about totaly redesigning the brake system on my trike,
I have 2 questions 1 This is what i'm thinking can you tell me if it will work or what I will have to do to make it work Master cylinder to 3 way union to front brake and rear break Front part from 3 way to brake bias to front caliper Back part from 3 way to 4 way uninion 1 output to left and to right one to break presure switch 2 As the trike is a hard tail do I need flexible brake hoses to the rear calipers? Thanks in advance Title: Re: Brake system help and advice needed Post by: tbone on January 24, 2010, 10:53:49 AM Ok, number 2 first.....No you dont. Solid lines in will be fine.
Now number 1....the bias valve will need to be on the rear, otherwise the back will be locking up before the front even kicks in. Master cyl to 3 way.....1 way to front caliper, 1 way to feed the rear, 1 for the switch. Never used or needed a bias valve, and it stopped ok

The above is ok for drum brakes But and its a big BUT with discs the caliper moves so you cant pipe in solid to the caliper as eventually the pipe will fracture. I speak from experience after repairing someone elses trike as the pipes kept breaking.
