Aah! Didn't recognise it with it's clothes on!
Like the air filter -what's a level sensor?
And how's your rather lovely number plate/bumper bar thingy attached to the axle?

hi again MM a level sensor is in basic terms a peice of pipe that hangs down the side of some rather deep tanks and filters we have in work  in pairs usually but can be more depends on how many levels you need to detect these are connected electricaly and when one comes out of the water due to dropping levels it breaks the circuit but modern technology is now replacing this type of thing using ultrasonics so hopefully some more covers may come up for grabs ive put the word about among the fitters and they said theyl give me shout also may i be so bold as to scrounge a copy of that reliant manual cd pretty please :-\

No problem matey. PM me your postal address & I'll bung it in the post.
Keep thinking about a fuel gauge for the Pop tank. Maybe an old fashioned sight glass tube down the side.
Have you added a small locating tab to each axle clamp, bolted to corresponding tabs on the axle, to stop it turning in the clamps?

yes the tabs were originaly part of the clamps i just cut one bolt holes worth off and welded it to the axle i may be able to help with sight glass i know of some tube but fittings may be a prob give me acouple of days after new year and i will see what i can find  ;D

HI MM when i built the blitz i had a site tube down the side consisting of one wheel valve with the valve core took out at the top and bottom place tube between and a small ball that petrol does not destroy acting as a float level from empty put in 1 gallon of fuel mark tube continue till full marking each gallon put in there u go cheap site glass and accurate

That's the sort of thing I was thinking of, but not sure of the end fittings & how to seal the tube into them or seal the fitings into the tank.

I will also be installing a sight-tube at some point into my spun-alloy tank. I aim to have a bung welded into the bottom so that I can thread it for a small elbow just like those bent tyre valve adaptors and fit a corresponding tube in the side of the filler neck. I just have to source some clear tube that hasn't got the mesh reinforcment and that won't go yellow. I saw the article in Custom Car about those Pyrex water pipes but that might be asking for trouble if it got smashed miles from anywhere.

There is a translucent red fuel pipe that you can get from hot rod shops, that might work. Though it may be a bit hard to see the level?

Rockstar, you are doing a great job. Wish I was as far forward. I would like to know is this a hardtail?. From your pics it seems to be, why I'm askin is because I cant figure what the shock absorbers are for at the back, what are they attached to at the top?. I was thinking of attaching a seat frame to the bike frame with bushings and putting shocks roughly the same as yours at the back. But your frame seems to be welded solid at the front. Maybe I am missing something here.

Mike, (Rockstar). The disc was posted to you yesterday. Some areas of the country are getting mail pretty promptly at the moment & some have a bit of a backlog, but hopefully it'll be with you soon.  ;)

Doooh, see it now, the whole axle can rise and fall and the seats are not sprung. Lot wider than a bike swingarm so should be a lot stronger. Hope this works.
