Title: Winter Triking
Post by: JayJay on December 19, 2009, 02:21:52 AM
Hi,

I am not usually one for posting photos of myself but this one was snapped the other day while I was out and about on my trike with my very fetching headgear.  I love this hat.  Other gear included thermal leggings under my jeans, cammie, thermal t-shirt, polo jumper, other big jumper, scarf, one of those tube things for your face (can't think what they are called), jacket and two pairs of gloves - and that was just for a quick local trip.  Thanks goodness I am not in Baggie's Nova Scotia!

Merry Christmas everyone and all my best for 2010 - lets all stay shiny side up no matter how we are travelling.   ;D

Love the hat!

When I'm out in the winter I have layers too!  Thermal top, T shirt, waistcoat, jumper, denim jacket and then my windproof waterproof on top, 6 layers usually does it!  Tho I'm not sure whether I'll try it tomorrow for the Mistletoe run, it's really cold here!

Big advantage of 3 wheels -much harder to fall off! Though I remember Brock managed it on his first one!  :D

Good on ya.

I will be riding my trike through the winter as soon as I've finished the damn thing.

A good few years back I took a mate out on the Trike for an evening. We visited a pub to see a band. When we arrived at the pub he got to the bar to order a drink but could not speak he was so cold.. Or maybe he was waiting for me to buy him one.  ::)

It was in fact -5 c at the time and he got a cab home...  ::)  Wuss

Well it was cold yesterday but bright and sunny - lucky I was on 3 wheels or I wouldn't have got off our estate!  You know when you get jack frost patterns on the window?  Well the roads on the estate were exactly like that!  Quite interesting even on the trike.

Had a pretty good turnout with the ice in mind - about 100 bikes down on last year but still about 150 turned out for the run!

Glad you had a good Mistletoe Run.  I have seen a few photos as two of my mates were on it.  They had very lit up helmets on as one of them is good with electrics and he said he couldn't resist the challenge!  They had told me that they love the run and they go every year but they don't like the mad - no holds barred - dash to the pub.  They feel this element detracts from the spirit of the run.  Don't know if you have found this.  Anyway, I wouldn't have made it this year but perhaps I will next year.

JJ  :)

and the next one, and once, quite spectacularly, from a VW we had done some work on, although it was nearly vertical at the time
