Hi all, thought it was about time i showed my face so to speak,

Simple answer.... bugger all size wise between the vehicles ;).
But the Granada also ran a 3.92:1 ratio.
Drum braked vehicles all ran a 7" diff with push in type shafts, while disc braked vehicles had the option of 7" or 7.5" diffs and the shafts bolt to the diff.

Welcome aboard by the way, i forgot to say that, its my age you know  ::)
Originaly the diff would have had a tag attached to one of the housing bolts, the tag would have had the ratio marked on it, but inevitably the tags vanish over time. As with most (all?) Ford diffs though, they do take the time and trouble to stamp the ratio in the gear, but that means pulling the plate off the diff to get inside.
See the attached pic to tell the difference between the 2 different diff sizes.

thanks for the welcome tbone,          and don't worry about it i'm getting the age thing myself,
if i dont hurry and get on with this build i'll forget wot i set out to do and end up with a zimmer,
apart from the ratio what differance will the 7"and 71/2"make to the build.
