Title: Malta Buses.
Post by: klogan45 on November 30, 2009, 05:50:31 PM
My Bro just got back from Malta. While he was there he took some pics of the buses for me, and bought me a die cast model of one of the buses.
Can anyone tell me what the Kelies' bus is.....please. Come on guys one of you should know. It's me favourite and I would like one.....................now!!!!!! ;D ;D

Kelies Bus. What make is it?
Did you spot the eyes on the front of this one? The boats all have them too, to watch over the sea.
Well I expect that the driver wants them to watch over the road!!!!!!
Apparently the eyes on the boats was 'adopted' from the Phoenicians who had them on their boats. (They did'nt put them on their buses coz they did'nt have any ;D ;D ;D ;D)

I had a holiday in Malta with my ex missus many years ago, as well as with my parents when I were a lad, (my Dad was stationed there with the Navy I believe). Hottest, driest, dustiest place I've ever been. Whenever drivers park up, they pull a dust sheet out of the boot & cover their cars over, otherwise by the time they get back from their shopping trip, the car's covered in a thick layer of brown dust.
Nearly all the buses were bright yellow as I remember. Great place for fans of old British cars though. Loads of 50s tin still being driven daily, despite many of them missing doors, bonnets etc.

I fancy a trip to Malta!

My dad was there with the Navy too, long before I was thought of though.  My sister remembers they weren't allowed to play with the neighbours' kids cos they were RAF riffraff!

That'd be a pity -& shooting themselves in the foot too, cos they probably provide a lot of tourist revenue.
