Title: Re: mojo Post by: Manky Monkey on November 19, 2009, 07:36:29 PM Jeez Toady! That's a bit drastic mate! Can't you just put it all in storage for a while till you feel like taking it up again?
I sold all my tools a few years back & all my bike riding gear too for the same reason -then had to re-buy it all. Title: Re: mojo Post by: TwistedPatience on November 19, 2009, 07:39:25 PM Don't do it mate you know you'll regret it!
Title: Re: mojo Post by: Plasticpig on November 19, 2009, 08:05:38 PM As Andy said, I bet you will regret selling it all. I lost a garage full of stuff when I got divorced, and had to start all over again.
Title: Re: mojo Post by: Simple Simon on November 19, 2009, 08:34:14 PM Dont do it Toad, put it away for a few weeks and dont even go near it (lock it all away if you have to), and i'll garentee you will be itchin to get back to it. If you sell you will come to a day when you really will regret it ;)
Title: Re: mojo Post by: toad on November 19, 2009, 08:51:14 PM nope me minds made up. will finish my commitments to a member on here then it all goes. i really have had enough now. i,ve been so preoccupied building for other peeps i,ve been without a trike on the road for 4yrs now and i cant be arsed to even do one for myself so its time to sit back and get my head together.
Title: Re: mojo Post by: tbone on November 19, 2009, 09:03:19 PM I do agree with the others, dont do it!
Seems to me that you`ve been doing all the work without getting the benifit. Yes it gives you a warm glow knowing that you have helped others, but thats not why you got involved in this `hobby` to start with. Keep your kit where it is, take six months off and get the urge back again, the urge to do something that you`ll enjoy and benifit from, wether it be Trike Bike or Car. Title: Re: mojo Post by: voodoo on November 19, 2009, 10:17:03 PM I know you have had a rough time of it mate, but as most people on here have said..step back from it all for a few months and see how it goes....Ive only had to put up with doing other peoples bikes ahead of my own but I also came close to saying bollox to it all and selling off my bikes and bits.......Terri told me to lock up the workshop for a few days and relax..it took me a week before I decided to go back and do something in there, even then I only went back in to finish my mates chop......
Please have a time out from it and then only do what you want to do for a while.....if you need a hand with anything or just want to have a drive out and a cuppa (or pint if its Avebury lol) feel free to give me a bell or drop in anytime....Voodoo... Title: Re: mojo Post by: spanners on November 19, 2009, 10:23:04 PM HEY!!! toad i,v bin through the mill(as you know) and youve been there for me SO DONT FORGET I,M HERE if you need me

Title: Re: mojo Post by: terry t on November 19, 2009, 11:30:41 PM Hi toad. im new here but i read all the theads on trike builds. and the input you guys give. has given me the confidence to build a trike from scratch. without you and the other guys i would never have attemped it do. as your mates have said lock up and leave it for a bit then decide. once you sold all your plant ect it will be hard to replace it again. but with out your experience what chance have us newbie got. dont give up.please terry
Title: Re: mojo Post by: uncledum1 on November 20, 2009, 08:25:14 AM Dont give up, im a carpenter and builder and when we have no work or a rough time we have to sell off surplus tools and materials. Then when we need those bits or that special tool for my projects i have to buy it again or hire it.
Most of my projects are on hold or going slowly because of work or lack of certain parts but reading everyones bits on here keeps everyone interested. Cant tell you what to do but you will miss or need them soon. Title: Re: mojo Post by: panthershaun on November 20, 2009, 12:36:05 PM I agree with the others mate, lock it away and forget about it BUT if you still feel the same in 6 months or a year you know that its the right thing to do....
My mojo has been very lacking these past few months due to a couple of health issue's and a whole load of work related crap, sold off quite a bit of my collection of projects but stopped short of selling the Pop and the bikes (but only just :-\ :-\) locked the workshop and walked away. I feel I've turned the corner again and I'm itching to get some grease back under my nails (but no more metal under the skin ;) ;)) and really want to get the current 3 projects finished so I can start on the next crop ;D ;D ;D ;D would have been gutted if I had followed my first reaction and sold everything... Title: Re: mojo Post by: hornet6 on November 20, 2009, 03:59:37 PM hi mate.Could be you,ve got a case of S.A.D syndrome. Seasonaly Affected Disorder. Give it break for a few months and once the winter season is over, and the weather gets better maybe it will re-kindle the creative juices again.I think that you would regret selling all your gear then finding that you need to buy it all again once you get the bit between your teeth.
Title: Re: mojo Post by: ROD on November 20, 2009, 04:38:29 PM Dont do it! You'll regret it later! Youve been doing too many jobs for others and left yourself behind!
Rod Title: Re: mojo Post by: gazzagood on November 20, 2009, 09:23:38 PM toad..don't do it i lost everything when divorced had to buy new cost arm leg..just stick it away for abit. and when you ready to build ill give you free of charge a set of conversion plts apair brake/clutch caliper plts.. and may be everyone else will donate when you ready to build your own trike.just to get ya started.gazzagood ;D ;D ;D
Title: Re: mojo Post by: BikerGran on November 20, 2009, 09:53:20 PM What they all said Toad! Don't part with your tools and stuff, just shut the door on it all and leave it for a bit, enjoy that new puppy.
Leave it till the spring then if you still feel that way, use the proceeds of the sale to put towards an on-the-road trike or bike that you don't have to work on, just ride and enjoy! Title: Re: mojo Post by: toad on November 21, 2009, 07:49:00 AM cheers bobbi off to see the pup in a bit (losing jack has tipped me over the edge) after the s**te i,ve been through these past 4yrs as you know. i wouldd,nt wish that on my worst enemy ;) im still flogging off a load of gear to raise some funds im looking for a semi finished project that i can put my mark on as i just cant seem to build anything for myself without cutting it up and binning it >:( maybe i should start drinking again ;D
