Title: Bitzman's bike busted
Post by: Manky Monkey on September 17, 2009, 10:30:39 PM
Had this email today from Alan, ("Bitzman"). His Blitz kit car's in the Motors, 4 wheels bit of the main site.

Alan's car (http://mankymonkeymotors.co.uk/Hotrodpageimages/fixterskitcar/words.html)

I didn't realise he had a bike. Well, sounds like he hasn't any more.
If you read this Al, get well soon, both of you. ;)

Hi guys,
just a few words- went out with the missus for a ride on Sunday in the Lake District. A bloody big tree jumped out on me. Tree hard, us soft -guess who came off better. Yeah, the tree. Rachael & I spent the next 3 hours in Carlisle hospital. Rachael had grazes to her waist area about 5in x 2ins. I saw this happening so put my right hand out straight, badly knackering my shoulder and dislocating  my right index finger. It went to say hello to my little finger, popping out of the knuckle joint.
The insurance assessor was round today. The bike's a write off, (sob, sob). Just spent another 3 hours in our A & E department. Will speak to you all soon, but bust my mobile with all my numbers in. I got a new one today so will ring a few of you soon.
-Alan

Sorry to hear about the aggressive tree - get well soon and I can tell you from experience that trikes are better at dealing with awkward obtacles cos they don't fall over!

Hope you and your missus heal up quick mate...just a thought....did you have salvage option on your bike insurance?...if you did you can normally buy the bike back from the insurance for 10% of you claim value......I did that when i had my old GS 1000 wrote off...I broke it for bits and made near on as much off the bits as I got for my claim lol....Voodoo....

You know it makes sense!  :P
A previous girlfriend of mine wasn't into the bike scene at all & forbade me from having one cos she was terrified I'd kill myself on it. She was quite happy for me to have a trike & ride it helmetless though & even accompanied me on local jaunts on it cos she thought 3 wheels were somehow safer.
