Title: Gary's yam
Post by: XSive on February 22, 2006, 07:48:38 PM
Hi there manky Monkey,
Found your site via chopperbuilder.
Just thought you'd like to know that the article in BSH with the 2 650yams has been quite an inspiration.
I'm pretty much basing my XS650 chop on the one from the article with the 8" over forks.
I love the lines of it.
Am I right in thinking that this was once yours?
great site by the way. intersting stuff (so well done you) and well laid out (so well done Yoda)
 :) :) :)

Hiya!
Always great to see a new face here. Welcome aboard!
Yeah, the article was headed "Gary's Yam", but the main piccie was in fact my Yam. The article's reproduced in our Motors, 2 Wheels section.
Gary now runs the Panther that's also in that section & rang me yesterday to say he'd won a trophy with it on it's first outing after it's recent rebuild at the Newbury racecourse show & autojumble at the weekend.
Last I heard of my Yam, it had worked it's way up to Scotland & was wearing a Sportster tank & flame paint job. Lovely motors. Like my old 650 Bonny but with all the faults taken out. Wouldn't mind another one now!
As I say to everyone who joins, send some piccies & a quick write up into Yoda at the address on the Contacts page & we'll run it in the Motors section.
Nice to hear from you. ;)

You want more stuff? I thought I was being good by not constantly sending you work to do. Thought you were busy with Chris' site, & your own, & the shop & God knows what else! O.K I'll find something to write about & get back to you.
If you've still got Steve's workshop piece on building his new drag race chassis can you run that please. Steve had planned to update it regularly as a build diary so it needs to be ...updateable.
I'll scribble a quick update on Dave's Honda trike, (causing some controversy on the 100% Biker forum at the moment), & add some new piccies.
I'll start a diary on the rat rod build.
Do a write up on building Critch's trike frame.
Chase Janie for something on Dave's Triumph rebuild & her 50s house.
Pull together something on Jacko's VW trike.
Nag Bobbi into writing a piece on her GT trike.
Track down Doug & get some follow up stuff on the Guzzlers car club.
Find the local guy who runs a Pinto engined 100E Pop & a Zephyr.
Cover Flap's Reliant trike build, plus Simon's & Ska Man's.
Sort out a bit about the Jag seat sofa I'm planning.
Oh, & write about my own trike too!  ;D
