A Stanley Steamer steam car, driven by someone not afraid to do donuts in the dirt in it. Wonderful.

A really nice show. A proper country show too -not overly commercial but an air of enthusiasm & fun. I enjoy this one.
The one low spot of the day was hearing the commentator in the arena say that this Rhodes tourer had had it's brass radiator cap/bonnet mascot stolen just a few hours earlier while it was at the show -the second vintage car that weekend to suffer that fate. It'd been on the car since 1927 & was obviously utterly irreplaceable. Scumbags.  >:(

I can't imagine a fellow vintage owner doing that. Can only think it was one of the autojumble stall holders or someone hoping to flog them on Ebay. A sad sign of the times.

Manky don't do the camping thing.  :P Rudgwick's less than 10 miles from home for me. Just round the corner from RAF Dunsfold, where they film Top Gear. The Dunsfold Wings & Wheels Show was on the same weekend, but I plumped for the Rudgwick do, (just noticed I spelt it wrong in the photo gallery. Bugger), cos I prefer the atmosphere of smaller shows.
Whad'ya mean -that is me in the Monkey picture.  ;D

been to the filming of top gear at dunsfold. been to dunsfold for the airshow when if you went in a classic or something like that you got in for free. i think you have to pay now even if you're displaying

I've done the Top Gear filming bit too. I won my tickets in a raffle and took my Mum as she would not have talked to me again if she knew I went without her. I've also driven on the track at the aerodrome all be it in an HGV lorry  ;D
