off the B374, just a few minutes from Junction 10 of the M25 and the A3 London to Portsmouth trunk road. Leave the A3 at the Painshill junction (A245) and follow the brown ‘Brooklands Museum’ signs. The only Jumble in the UK that combines Car, Motorcycle and Aero, with around a hundred assorted stalls, together with open cockpits, engine runs and Meet the Pilots. 8.00 Aero Auto Jumble open for Early Birds - tickets £15 for adults, £5 for children (parking in The Heights off Wellington Way, but please note that until 9am, Wellington Way may only be accessed from Brooklands Road, the B374) 10.00 Museum open - usual admission prices 10.30-12.30 Meet the Pilots beside the Hunter, Wellington, Vanguard and Harrier aircraft 11.00-13.00 Hawker Hurricane Workshop tours 11.30-11.45 Napier Railton static engine run outside the Campbell/ ERA Sheds 12.15-12.45 Aero-engine running demos: Bleriot, Santos-Dumont Demoiselle, Kronfield Drone & Sopwith Camel on grass behind Concorde 14.00-16.30 Workshop tours and Meet the Pilots sessions continue 14.30-14.45 Napier Railton static engine run 15.30-16.00 Aero-engine running demos as above 17.00 Museum and event close All Visitor parking in The Heights (access via Wellington Way) or in our gravel car park at Mercedes-Benz World. Taz was workng today, so I took a leisurely drive over to the Brooklands Museum around lunchtime -it's only about 10 miles from us. I'd gone hoping to pick up an interesting set of vintage car or aeroplane lights to act as indicators on my Pop pick-up project, but the few jumble stalls that were there were almost all selling collectables -highly polished & over-priced bonnet mascots, books & models. Several Australian registered Napiers in the carpark though & the aluminum bodied Napier Railton race car sounded absolutely awesome running through it's 3 huge fishtail exhausts.
