Manky Monkey Motors

Anyone localish to me (Salisbury area) that is anygood re-building bike engines?...I need to strip and re-build a GS 750 engine..ie new rings...oil seals ect......and possibly swap the top end over from 750 to 1000 as I have a excellent spare gs 1 lump sitting here......I am running out of time to get the chop finished for my mate  and now dont have the time to re-build the lump and do all the paintwork it needs plus re-wireing it...any help appreciated...Voodoo.....

im a qualified engine builder and bike techy aint much to worry on those motors as everything is roller bearings if i remember rightly? the crankcase mouths have to be bored out to accept the thou barrels we can have a chat tommorow when i drop the tap off ;)

isnt it the 850 top end that fits straight on?

roller crank has over 300 bits too it if i remember right and is a fortune to rebuild  :'(

why not put whole thou motor in?

Already thought about doing that but...I would have to cut and widen the frame as GS 1000 is slightly wider.......just not got the time to jig it up and play around...trying to have it done by end of the month for a friend,as it is ive got probably 3 or 4 days of paintwork to get done...Voodoo....

Isn't the Thou' motor taller too.

Height is not a problem as its a chop and has good top rail clearance...plus to be honest I would rather keep the thou lump complete as ive got a spare frame that I could always chop and drop it in....Voodoo.....
