Title: Honorary Monkies. Post by: Manky Monkey on January 30, 2006, 11:37:02 PM I had an email yesterday from Louise & Mark Anderson. I could be wrong but I think Louise wrote here under the name "Little Miss PMT" last year. She was the one who's bike was stolen just days after showing us photos of it.
Anyway, they're now in business as "Edinburgh Trike Services" & have sent me photos of one of their projects. As she says it's "unashamedly an "Andy Trike"! I've asked them to send in the photos with some explanatory words for the Motors section. I'm quite flattered that they chose to borrow our design but Nige says we should demand recognition as design consultants! ;D Title: Re: Honorary Monkies. Title: Re: Honorary Monkies. Post by: Little Miss PMT on February 18, 2006, 10:56:35 PM Correct Louise is Little Miss PMT. Nearly finished the second instalment of the build and will send to you soon. Have a look at http://www.edinburghtrikeservices.co.uk/technical.html and let me know what you think, more photos and write ups to come.

Lookin' good! That's got some nice lines to it. What's the seat height? Nige & I are handing over a frame to Critch today, (photos later), & I like it so much I'm going to cut up my own frame & rebuild it the same. Similar to yours but with a solo seat & gearstick coming out under it to the left, (see the "Mr Critch" thread). Can you get the engine & box in & out in one piece or do you need to split them? Keep writing & photographicking & I'll ask the very busy Mr Yoda to make up a page in the Motors section for you. Nice to see you back here by the way. ;) Title: Re: Honorary Monkies. Post by: Little Miss PMT on February 26, 2006, 11:12:36 PM Seat height should be 17" (with foam) Engine and box can come out in one but is easier in two if you are on your own. Im waiting on a couple of 8mm ball joint to fit the torque arm of the selector lever. Have added a spring to hold the neutral position over 3rd and 4th. Still writing and taking photo's......................published soon. Can you stick a link on your links page for me?
Title: Re: Honorary Monkies. Post by: wizzkitt on February 26, 2006, 11:18:49 PM Still ... taking photo's..... Could they be a bit less widescreen, please? ;D Title: Re: Honorary Monkies. Post by: Little Miss PMT on February 26, 2006, 11:23:55 PM If I knew how :(. Yoda added the others. ;D
Title: Re: Honorary Monkies. Post by: Manky Monkey on February 26, 2006, 11:34:34 PM :D
Have to keep scrolling across the page to view them! Yup, the link is fine. Email Yodie, (his address is on the Contacts page), as he handles all the clever stuff. I just type all the drivel. Would be very interested in seeing your gearchange linkage. Would be worth it's own little section in the Tech bit if you can write some explanatory words & get some good close up shots of it. Yodie's getting very busy these days so it may take a little while for things to get posted but they get there in the end. 17 inches? That's l-o-o-w! Ours are usually around 20 inches but we use solo seat pads that sit up off the frame a little. Lookin' good! Title: Re: Honorary Monkies. Remember this is just a prototype (http://www.edinburghtrikeservices.co.uk/gearlinkage_2.JPG) Full story so far at http://www.edinburghtrikeservices.co.uk/technical.html Title: Re: Honorary Monkies. Post by: Speedmaster on February 27, 2006, 12:05:58 AM Still ... taking photo's..... Could they be a bit less widescreen, please? ;D Re the quote, if Manky was to contact Les in Melksham, he had a piece of software that reduced any picture to fit the screen. Title: Re: Honorary Monkies. Post by: Manky Monkey on February 27, 2006, 12:20:46 AM Haven't heard from Les since the Fox & Hounds MCC site closed. Will try & contact him. I use Adobe Photoshop to resize my piccies & could save these, reduce them & repost them, but I'm sure Yodie could do it quicker.
That's an impressive looking set-up! Title: Re: Honorary Monkies. Post by: Speedmaster on February 27, 2006, 12:25:41 AM Twas a pity that site closed, oh well......
Title: Re: Honorary Monkies. Post by: Manky Monkey on February 27, 2006, 12:27:30 AM I think I killed it! Haven't got any old piccies from our youth. You got any we could post in the Old Biker Photos bit?
Title: Re: Honorary Monkies. Post by: Speedmaster on February 27, 2006, 12:32:18 AM I'll have a dig around. Trouble is my scanner doesnt work with this computer since it crashed, but I'll see if I can find another way of uploading them
Title: Re: Honorary Monkies. Post by: Manky Monkey on February 27, 2006, 12:35:30 AM Is that how it's done? You don't just selotape them to the screen then? I got a printer with my new PC but haven't even plugged it in yet. Haven't got a scanner. You could always entrust them to Royal Mail & send 'em to Yoda for scanning.

Missy PMT -& MISTER PMT, nice to see you both back here. There is no escape! Title: Re: Honorary Monkies. Post by: Borgy on February 27, 2006, 01:40:59 PM Brass Eye was one of the few programs worth watching
Title: Re: Honorary Monkies. Post by: Little Miss PMT on March 01, 2006, 10:20:37 PM (http://www.edinburghtrikeservices.co.uk/forum_photos/Side_Stick_1.JPG)
(http://www.edinburghtrikeservices.co.uk/forum_photos/Side_Stick_2.JPG) (http://www.edinburghtrikeservices.co.uk/forum_photos/Side_Stick_3.JPG) Used the original reverse gate spring to hold the neutral over 3rd and 4th. The torque rod gives the pivot over the horizontal axis of the selector while still allowing it to rotate, makes it exactly like a car ie push left and forward for 1st etc. Have already got a couple of better designs in mind for this type and will be stripping a gearbox down when this trike is finished and modifying the reverse selector and detents so I can have a single gear stick. I will finish of the article on my web page soon but if anyone want one making or more detailed photos let me know. Mark http://www.edinburghtrikeservices.co.uk/technical.html Title: Re: Honorary Monkies. Post by: Manky Monkey on March 02, 2006, 04:36:10 PM Mark, can we steal this entire article from you for use in the Trike Tech section, with full credit to you obviously. Very impressive & way more complex than anything Reliant related I've tried. Will be interested to see just how well it fares in use, in the cut & thrust of traffic.
Title: Re: Honorary Monkies. Post by: Little Miss PMT on March 02, 2006, 11:04:35 PM Course you can. I need to get this frame finished this weekend so it can get powder coated, after that I will get the article finished and sent to you.
The bar Ive used is thicker than the original gear stick and its all bushed and reamed so it "should" be ok. Finished off the hydraulic clutch system tonight so its just some seat and electric box brackets to go. Mark Title: Re: Honorary Monkies. Post by: Little Miss PMT on March 03, 2006, 08:30:58 AM Yup, I've checked out the page and he has been polite in the reason of a side gearstick.
Lucky for him...........or he'd have my boot up his backside followed by the poker across the head!!! :P Usually he calls me a short arse :-[ Title: Re: Honorary Monkies. Post by: Manky Monkey on March 03, 2006, 03:38:41 PM Hee hee! What a happy little domestic scene that conjurs up!
My own frame's still only half built at the moment. Won't get a chance to work on it again till tomorrow now, then I'm out all weekend. So much to do! Title: Re: Honorary Monkies. Post by: Little Miss PMT on March 05, 2006, 10:09:16 PM It Fits!! :D
I Had to make the pedals from bar stock because as well as Louise's leg's and arm's being too small she now claims her feet are too small.......................SMELL BIGGER TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (http://www.edinburghtrikeservices.co.uk/forum_photos/it_fits_small.jpg) Anyone want to buy a 1987 VFR?? Or sell me a bevel box from a XS? Mark Title: Re: Honorary Monkies. Post by: Manky Monkey on June 09, 2006, 11:42:47 AM Latest emailed piccie from Mark shows the trike frame freshly powder coated. Very pretty :)
