Title: Re: MILKCOW Post by: Plainy Janie on July 02, 2009, 07:35:20 AM After a 3 hour journey in the car yesterday afternoon in all that heat, we finally made it to the Ace Cafe.
There were cars, bikes, rods, girls, and it was busy, busy and very busy!!! Queues for the food and drink counter inside, were beginning to tailback into the carpark! Having forgotten to charge my camera before we went, I managed (I hope) to capture the atmosphere of the evening before the camera died. Dave and I made our way home around 11:10pm last night, and still there were people and vehicles about. I got the magazine, got the t-shirt, and hopefully Manky will have the pictures soon to show you! ;D I do all this for free you know!!! ;) Title: Re: MILKCOW Post by: Manky Monkey on July 02, 2009, 09:00:32 AM You forgot to charge the camera? We always carry spare batteries for ours. Thanks for being our roving reporter for the day hon. My disc drive's packed up, so off to PC World this morning to buy an external one to plug in & clear the backlog of photo discs we've got here! Keep sending them in though folks. We'll get everything online, eventually, promise. ;)

Title: Re: MILKCOW Post by: Manky Monkey on July 04, 2009, 01:41:30 PM I'm a little confused by the name -is there some significance to "Milkcow" I'm missing?
Title: Re: MILKCOW Post by: panthershaun on July 04, 2009, 03:23:40 PM a mate told me that Milkcow was the style of music that Elvis sang as in "Milkcow Blues" ??? ??? ??? ??? as I'm not a big Elvis fan I had to believe him ::) ::) ::)
Title: Re: MILKCOW Post by: Plainy Janie on July 07, 2009, 06:13:03 PM The magazine is excellent! I've read it from cover to cover a couple of times now, and even took it on holiday with me.
The word Milkcow was thought up by the magazines Creative Director - Danny Bedocs. It was born from the song Milkcow Blues Boogie, that every one from Elvis, Sleepy LaBeef, Ricky Nelson and Eddie Cochran have since recorded. Milkcow magazine is not trying to compete with anything out there already, its just that the scene it is trying to capture has such a range of magazines dedicated to a specific element. Whereas Milkcow want to cover everything, within the UK, that has something to do with the 40s and 50s lifestyle, in one publication, including retailers. |
