Title: Re: hotrods on tv Post by: Manky Monkey on April 13, 2009, 07:47:02 PM Jim Turnbull bust the front axle on his red & gold roadster at the Hotrod Hayride last year, when he stuffed it into the armco barrier on the dirt oval.

Title: Re: hotrods on tv Post by: BikerGran on April 16, 2009, 12:19:53 AM Has that been stretched or does it just look long cos it's been lowered? The body I mean, I can see the wheels are forward of where they would have been.
Title: Re: hotrods on tv Post by: tazet on April 16, 2009, 06:15:24 AM Don't think it's been stretched just squashed
Title: Re: hotrods on tv Post by: Manky Monkey on April 16, 2009, 04:34:22 PM Roof-chopped a little lower than mine, (mine's 3", that looks more like 4"), & the front axle pushed further forward to a similar position to mine. Maybe the body channelled over the chassis too, (original height chassis with the body lowered further over it), but otherwise standard Bobbi.

Nice attention to detail on parts like the steering column mount. A deceptively simple looking car -takes a hell of a lot of work to make it look that easy.
Title: Re: hotrods on tv Post by: poprodder on April 17, 2009, 06:18:41 PM i don't know how russ made it look so simple, there was a great write up about it in nsra street gasser beggining of year.
Title: Re: hotrods on tv Post by: Manky Monkey on April 17, 2009, 07:04:46 PM Shows you don't need huge amounts of cash or mega workshop facilities to put together a great looking car.
Title: Re: hotrods on tv Post by: panthershaun on April 25, 2009, 04:22:06 PM I've heard he has just re-purchased Rotten pop 1 as well as one of those luverrly Fiat Toppolino bodies from the hotrod swap meet at Thurrock :o jammy git >:( :P :-*

Title: Re: hotrods on tv Post by: panthershaun on April 25, 2009, 04:30:48 PM rottenpop 2 (http://usera.imagecave.com/mrbthebarber/Hotrod%20Hayride%2009082008081%20copy%20(1)Smal.jpg) this is the latest which is number 2, built after he really missed no1 after selling it. Title: Re: hotrods on tv Post by: Manky Monkey on April 25, 2009, 04:33:38 PM Yup, that's the one. Now all in bare metal?
