Triker Pete has taken it upon himself to organise a custom & classic bike & car show down his way in the New Forest. A daunting task & not one I'd be up to, so full marks to Pete for his efforts. Why not go along & show him some support eh.   ;)

Sorry Pete, but I've just rechecked dates and we're on holiday (going to Mullion on the Lizard), I sort of cocked up really as I now have to change a few things around that I had planned. :'(

Hmmmm.......how long do you think it'll take me to drive back to surrey from the lizard, pick up the Bulldog, ride to the new forest, have a quick pint with you 8), then ride back to surrey, pick up the car and drive back to the lizard? (might tell the family I have to pop out for a minute or two) ;D

Just take the family camping at the Plough Inn, just think of the time/fuel you'll save.....not to mention all the drinking time you could gain  ;) ;D

Well we were heading off to Rock & Blues that weekend but due to the move finances wont stretch far enough to buy all the bits we need to sort garden and Porch and go to R&B so looks like you are stuck with us......As long as the weather is good will pop down on the Chop....Voodoo......

Just had a check on autoroute and its:
Distance:  39.7 miles  (show in km)
Time: 1 hr 12 min
Nice little run out...got a few little jobs to do on the chop first though...rear wheel likes kicking over even with the adjusters all set up...I get a few miles use the rear brake or give it some stick ad it kicks over to the right?? will sort that tomorrow....next is carbs need a strip and re-build as it pops and splutters at low revs..probably Diphrams so yet again will sort tomorrow.....I may even quickly re-paint the tank as atm its a bit too pink looking lol...See ya there...Voodoo.....

Yep the brake stay bar is secure...just to be safe I am going to strip off the rear wheel and check everything...while i am there may as well stick in new wheel bearings and new rear pads lol.....evn if cant come down on chop we will nip down in the wifes Golf.......Voodoo...

Lol this one is disc's all round so I best keep a close watch on you...if I see you sneaking off with a trolly jack I will have to set my puppy on you ....Voodoo....

Shame there is not a small stall selling Carb Diaphrams lol...ended up not having time to sort the carb out but we will still be there,with the chop coughing and spluttering on low revs and popping everytime I have to slow down......fingers crossed ive sorted the back wheel problem,stripped it all off and adjusted the wheel back up,it now sits where it should but the run out tomorrow will show if it stays where it should!...no laughing at my throttle cable flapping in the wind...atm its too short so not attatched to anything but hand grip and carb and it hangs out on its own on the right side of the bike......C YA TOMORROW....Voodoo......

glad you got your wheel sorted. hope the motor runs ok enough to get you here and back.
promise i wont laff at your throttle cable, been there done that, along with having to use fishing line many moons ago ;D

Car :-[ Have fixed trike but MOT is out now. Hope to get it done next week.

It sounds completely different the old down pipes where full of small holes.

I came (got lost and took me about an hour riding around New Forest)...I saw (by the time I arrived,not a lot)..I made it home woohoo..Was good to put some faces to names.....Voodoo....

Good to see everyone at the show today, not a bad turnout.
We got back about 5.30 will post photos soon.

Thanks to all those that made the effort and turned up. At one time there must have been 10 to 15 cars and about 20+ bikes/trikes. I had expected more but many that promised to show didnt!! Im sorry the music didnt start till late, I had asked for it to start at 1pm...near 3pm before it did :( Several bikes/cars left early, 1 to 2 pm, as they said "its a bit quiet". Rain stayed away til 3ish when the stalls decided to pack away and disappear, dont blame them really. Hopefully they made there fuel money on bits they sold.
We'll have to see what next year brings??!!

That sounds a fair turn out for the inaugural event, and i`m sure it will blossom as you continue. Its always sad when you get no shows from people who have promised to arrive, but those that did attend had a good time, and the best advert for any event is a happy punter. Sounds like you had better weather down your way than here, and of course that helps too. Congratulations on getting this together in the first place, it must have been hard, frustrating work at times and no doubt very worring and tireing. Looking forward to the next one.  ;)

Would like to stop by and say "Hi" to all the friendly people who made us feel very welcome today. First time visitors and certainly not last.
Will hopefully be arriving on or in our own wheels in future !!!!

hhhmmmm, now Ive looked at the photos it seems it was better turn out than I thought. I was too busy to notice properley. The only downfall now is that the collection for Air-Ambulance was pi** poor, mostly my fault as didn't organise "tin rattlers" in time before most people headed off :(

Took the collection tin to Air-Ambulance this morning, they are going to count it and send me receipt soon, I'll keep you informed.
Yesterday we called in at The Plough, 1st time since the event, Landord asked me about doing it again next year! He also said that several donations were made into the pubs Air-Ambulance tin which sat on the bar and will be sent off seperately.
Shall we or shant we??????????? If we do then I'll have to lay down a few "extra ground rules" as I wasnt 100% happy with the day, but then again I'm a grumpy old bugger :) ::)

I may of arrived late but, I enjoyed what was left of the show....if its on again next year I will make sure I leave nice and early to get there, plus it now helps that I know where the pub is lol......I did throw some money in the bucket but best place would be at the pub door next year as everyone goes to grab a drink...Voodoo....

Every show has to start somewhere Pete. I admire you for even thinking of staging your own event. Don't think I'd have the guts to try it. If you didn't learn from each one & improve the next time things would very quickly stagnate. One comment I've heard was that more direction signs were needed on the day. We'll do our best to be at the next one.  ;)

As the shows organiser, your entitled to run it the way you want, every show will have some degree of legislation or chaos would ensue.
I may be misinturpretating your previous posts, but you seemed slightly dissapointed with the turn out? For the first 3 or 4 shows i`d just be happy that someone had turned up, dont aim too big too soon, and when the first thousand people turn up..........PANIC.
It`s been advertised on this site, and presumably others?and its also now featured in the events section here, that will increase the footfall (should that be wheelfall) count for next year.
Pat yourself on the back and dont think about it for a few weeks, then you can come back to it fully refreshed, just like any other project  ;)
