As usual, we'll be in the "straight" car, rather than something classic or custom, (so many projects, so little time), but we'll have a photo gallery online the next day. Hope all goes well -& feel free to send us a write-up on this year's event!  ;)

Great! We'll look out for you -taking the trike? Janie, (Boopoopadoopgal), & Postie_Dave are going. Chevy Rick was there last year but haven't heard from him lately. We'll be wearing our black MMMotors jackets, so if anyone spots us, come up & make yourselves known. Look forward to seeing you.  ;)

Well we went and hand a great time. Bumped into Taz, Dave and Janie and Chevy Rick. Did not see Manky but think he was eating cake somwhere. Nice to see you all folks and what a great show. So many motors to look at and a beautiful day too.

Didn't see me?! You waved at me, you cheeky chimp! Yeah, it was a great turn out. Bitterly, bitterly cold but dry & clear with very bright Winter sunshine, which made it a bugger to photograph anything. Taz & I managed to snap nearly a thousand shots between us though, plus ChevyRick's piccies too. Everything from motorised bicycles to steam lorries.
We went straight from Romsey up to Wiltshire to spend the rest of the day at Brock's place. Got home at half past midnight. It's now 3.50 in the morning & I'm setting off to commute to work again. So no photos online yet, but they'll be there by the end of the weekend.  ;)

I decided it was too cold for the trike, and currently without my car, so maybe next year.....

Over a thousand photos from Chevy Rick, Taz & myself now online here:

Romsey classic meet (http://mankymonkeymotors.co.uk/Photos/romsey26.12.08/words.html)

If you haven't been to this one yet, it really is worth the effort of getting out on a chilly Boxing Day morning to go. A fantastic turn out of vehicles & visitors. Some beautiful machinery on show. Great to see this stuff actually being driven & enjoyed as it was meant to be, rather than just hidden away as an investment. The Romsey show's run & marshalled by just 3 guys, which makes their achievement all the more remarkable. Read Mr B's write-up for more info. Nice to see Dan, (53 Catalina), Chevy Rick, Triker Pete & Chrissie, Janie & Dave, Mr & Mrs ByzMax & everyone else we chatted to.
Of course we'll be there again next year.

JEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!  BIG thanks for the link on NSRA forum to the pics on "MRS MONKEY".......... B!!!!y 'ell we had some motors there!!! I saw so little whilst trying to create spaces, park people & keep the traffic flowing!!! ASTOUNDED by the sheer diversity of vehicles & numbers, all of your great pics make me realise just how much I missed  :(   I usually get a chance to go walkabout & shoot some shots for the press as follow ups to their kind column inches pre show but got so few this time due to the sheer weight of traffic!! ....BUT that's kind of a nice problem to have had!!
Am still buzzing from it all & all the nice feedback..........which has kinda helped to wipe away some of the grief from "A reg Mercedes man" & a couple of other angries that we couldn't accomodate who had little compassion nor understanding of our predicament & also seemed to forget Xmas spirit & kindness!!....... I wonder, in the post show publicity I hope to get in magazines, papers etc etc  are you guys ok with me adding a link to this forum's coverage of the show?? Assuming they are willing to print it.
Thanks, Steve

Of course Steve. You guys deserve all the credit you get. Happy to help in any way we can. We can send you full sized versions of any shots you like or bung the whole lot on a CD & post them to you. No problem. Just give us a credit for any you use please.
As general public, we don't see the behind-the-scenes hassles you must face as organisers. It's that swan thing isn't it -serene & calm on the surface but paddling like mad underneath. It all looked seamless to us. An event to be proud of. Well done Sir.
See you next year!  ;D

I could go on reproducing photos here all day, (don't worry, I won't), but I loved this. It's very first outing apparently. I guarantee it'll turn up in a magazine feature somewhere soon. Gorgeous.

Thanks Andy, will do. Will also get round to puttin some of my pics up next day or so....the few I took! Oh & the guy top of this page with GORGEOUS truck & bobber on the back is Calvin, don't know him that well but very nice guy who's always got real nice motors/bikes.
All the best.

I can honestly say, what a thoroughly enjoyable day.  Dave & I hadn't been to this one before, but shall certainly be there again next year, perhaps with a few more layers of clothing. (laughing)

Well done to Steve (Mr. B), for all the organising and hassle you went to, hope this thread finds you in better health.

A toast to you Sir!

I like toast. What were we talking about? Oh yeah.  :)
Yours was our very last event of 2008 Steve. The New Years Day classic meet in Hartley Wintney, Hants will be the first one of 2009.
I've just had a quick count up & between ourselves & various forum members we've covered a staggering 112 events this year. If anyone complains there's never anywhere to go or anything to do, just show them the Events list!

MANY, many thanks, very kind of you. The TWO moaners have kinda gotten to me when worked so hard to give everyone this event but I must bring it into perspective & remind myself that they are 2 of what 2500 folk there? Hard to say but sure in hell seemed to be people as well as cars EVERYwhere!! Messages like yours & the many others kind ones here make it all worthwhile thank you. I just LOVE seeing so many people enjoy the event & renew old friendships & at the same time present a cheque to help a worthy charity help people less fortunate than us all.
Happiest of New Years to all here.
Kind regards,
Steve

HAPPIEST of New Years to all on here, hope you all had a great one. I am in the process of building a website for the Boxing Day meet & would like to use some of the quotes from these pages using those peoples forum names & of course mentioning MANKYMONKEYMOTORS & putting a link on to it. Anyone have any objections?
Thanks, Steve
