That's cool!
You're right, the beat-up, used but loved look works for me -yeah, I know, I've looked like that for years. Always cooler than pristine squeeky clean. I'll be going for that kinda look with my rod project. Always fancied a Blues-Mobile black & white myself.
My big brother Steve keeps emailing me stuff from the Ruffrodders' site. Sent this XS650 last night. Can't decide if I like it or not.

I quite like the overall shape. Clip-on bars make a change on a hardtail chop & the choice of tank is definitely unusual, but just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Lots of odd accessories, like bath tap fork top caps, 8 ball dip stick handle & pushbike pedal kickstart. Creative, but not necessarily right. Lots of clashing styles. Not sure about those curved hardtail frame tubes either.
At least it's not an out-of-a-catalogue formula chop though.

I'm not conoisseur of chops, but it seems to me the front downtubes need to be curved as well, to go with the rear, dunno if thats do-able.  And the seat needs to be a little more substantial to balance the look.  To me it looks a bit like someone slung together all the odd parts that were lying around!

Yeah, I think you're right Bobbi. There's just something intrigingly quirky about it though.
Satin black with flames U.B?

A couple more shots of that XS650 Yam. Looks better with the rider on it & some paint on the tank.
