Title: tyre size Post by: blair on August 26, 2008, 12:22:41 PM does anyone know about tyre sizes ?
i have a spoked rear wheel with a 120 / 90 /17 tyre and was wondering if i could fit a 130 /90 /17 or wider if poss ? its only 10 mm extra and it if i can it mean i could use the same tyre that i used on my z550 chop , theres no limit on width as i havent built the frame yet but i dont know what the maximum tyre width would be any ideas ? cheers Title: Re: tyre size Post by: tbone on August 26, 2008, 12:47:01 PM any idea what size the wheel is? apart from the diameter of course

17 is the wheel diameter. 120 is the tyre width 90 is the aspect ratio (90% of the 120 width) thats the depth of the tyre from centre of tread to rim (not sure if measured as a staright line or the contour of the tyre).
