trike will be registered as oon as we get frame number and master cylinder from the good ole U S of A and the bastards painted the jag axle PINK so I had to actually finish off the trike myself - Yoda Title: Re: Willy Post by: Manky Monkey on November 12, 2005, 10:00:48 PM When we gonna see this beastie of yours then Yodles?

How long's it taken -& how much has it cost?! Apart from your sanity?
Title: Re: Willy Post by: yoda on November 12, 2005, 10:17:55 PM from idea to reality 15 months
BUT 7 Months were spent searching for an engine and cost well errrr about 9 to 10 grand(ish) Title: Re: Willy Post by: Manky Monkey on November 12, 2005, 10:44:19 PM Eeek!!
I've never owned a vehicle in my life that was worth that much! In fact all the vehicles I've ever owned added together probably wouldn't be worth that much! Really, really hope it's all you hope it'll be mate. And can I have a go please mister?! :D Title: Re: Willy Post by: yoda on November 12, 2005, 10:51:41 PM well it started of with a 3k budget
then the engine cost me 1k then the back wheels cost £440pair then the back tyres cost £560pair and you can see where this is going the little billet from indicaters cost £90 alone so things went a bit mad Title: Re: Willy Post by: Manky Monkey on November 12, 2005, 11:04:40 PM "A bit mad"! Wonderfully understated!
Rainbow bought the rear tyres for her trike project last week. tyresdirect.com I think. 205/55/15s. 25 quid each. Title: Re: Willy Post by: yoda on November 12, 2005, 11:10:32 PM i never even thought about tyres when i had the wheels imported but
once here did you think i could find any, could i buggery most places could only offer up a piddly 265 (to go on a 12" rim) someone suggested northants tyres so i phoned em up and asked what the biggest tyre you can put on a 12" rim and they said well sir we have a pair of 445 x 50 x 15's here so i went down laughed at the sheer size and promptly handed over my credit card ;D ;D ;D Yoda you see 'A little Mad' Title: Re: Willy Post by: Manky Monkey on November 12, 2005, 11:18:49 PM Flap's got 265s on his trike. Bought, unused, already fitted on a pair of old Wolfrace slot mags, with the right bolt pattern for the Reliant axle, at Beaulieu autojumble for 200 quid the pair. A bugger to roll all the way back to the carpark though. My trike's tyres came from Northants Tyres. They're only 10 miles from here in Fleet, Hants. I'll be going there for the tall skinny Coker whitewall truck tyres for my hotrod project. They've got a shop full of period custom car parts from the States. Worth a browse around if you're in the area.
I think you should give your credit card to me for safe keeping mate. I'd spend less on it than you do! Title: Re: Willy Post by: BikerGran on November 12, 2005, 11:28:47 PM Nah, Yoda's a cheapskate really you know - he was telling us elsewhere - when folks were suggesting all kinds of things to do to it - that his wheelchair cost £3000 - was talking to a bloke today whose chair cost.......
More than Yoda's chair........ More than Yoda's trike (even when the budget has over-run a bit more...) More than Yoda's chair and trike put together! Wait for it........................ Seventeen thousand smackers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Honest! But it does climb stairs and do balancing tricks..... in fact it's so entertaining I don't know what he's doing working for our lot, he should be on the stage! Title: Re: Willy Post by: yoda on November 13, 2005, 12:00:46 AM not Jon Burgerman is it ;D
http://www.diy-nitrous.fsnet.co.uk/ Title: Re: Willy Post by: BikerGran on November 13, 2005, 10:38:23 PM Seriously, it's an amazing bit of kit! I've only spoken to him a couple of times but he did perform specially for me, when I get to know him a bit better I shall ask if I can phot him performing!
Title: Re: Willy Post by: critch on November 16, 2005, 05:37:04 PM not Jon Burgerman is it ;D http://www.diy-nitrous.fsnet.co.uk/ be very careful if yer going to use burgermans plans yoda the solies he recomends are crap when compared to what ny-trex uses......and theyre dire when compared to highpower ones ;)lets not even get into the phase change problems associated with using generic plumbing fittings.it is a very interesting site that i perused a few years ago. though looks much better today.... remember not all nitrous systems are created equally................. ;) Title: Re: Willy Post by: yoda on November 16, 2005, 06:48:35 PM to be honest he recommends doing it all yourself, but i aint that clever so will have to pay for a proper install
Yoda Title: Re: Willy Post by: critch on November 17, 2005, 05:14:30 PM even if you did i wouldnt recomend burgermans stuff on any engine you want to keep for a while..... ;D
