Strange choices! Got no idea what I'd choose. Of the modern stuff I'm very taken by Audi TTs. Old stuff -dunno. Too much to choose from! Title: Re: your ultimate car Post by: Borgy on November 01, 2005, 11:17:10 PM I lke the Honda Insite because it does 80 MPG and reminds me of a tin plate toy car I had when I was 5
Title: Re: your ultimate car Post by: Manky Monkey on November 01, 2005, 11:20:27 PM I had a Tonka toy truck when I was 5 but wouldn't want one now. That Honda Insane reminds me of those cool 50s Citroens with the hydraulic suspension & stuff. Can't remember what they were called.
Title: Re: your ultimate car Post by: Borgy on November 01, 2005, 11:33:17 PM DS I want one of them as well :)
Or 'The Day Of The Jackal' car as I used to call them Title: Re: your ultimate car Post by: Manky Monkey on November 01, 2005, 11:54:32 PM Before my time! ;)
I used to drive up to Oxford quite a lot on Sunday mornings & stroll along the canal path. Very tranquil -until they built a load of new housing there. Used to be a workshop backing onto the canal that specialised in those. Dozens of 'em in various states of repair. Always thought they were gorgeous looking things. A few old Brit motors in the Street Cars section for you Borgy. Title: Re: your ultimate car Post by: Borgy on November 02, 2005, 12:08:47 AM Mark 2 Consul is nice.
I'll take it. Heres my card wrap it up and send it to me Title: Re: your ultimate car Post by: Manky Monkey on November 02, 2005, 12:22:50 AM Certainly Sir. I pity the Postie who has to lug it up your path though. How's he gonna get that through your letterbox?
I love seeing old or quirky motors being driven, out on the streets where they belong. Was on the motorway a while ago & passed a Dodge Charger General Lee replica towing one of those 50s polished ally Streamliner caravans. Didn't have my camera unfortunately. Plenty of room for old bike & car photos if you want to send any in. Title: Re: your ultimate car Post by: Urban Terrorist on November 02, 2005, 12:55:28 PM I want one of these:

Title: Re: your ultimate car Post by: Urban Terrorist on November 02, 2005, 01:15:09 PM Nope, the second one. Seem's it's based on a '73 Ford AX Fairmont?!!! Never heard of them before, but it looks cool 8)
Title: Re: your ultimate car Post by: Manky Monkey on November 02, 2005, 01:33:44 PM There's a Ford FairLANE a few miles down the road from here at Valley Gas speed shop, (dealer profile soon). That's a very cool, boxy looking motor, but never heard of a FairMONT. I think you've just made that up! :D
Title: Re: your ultimate car Post by: Borgy on November 02, 2005, 01:50:29 PM Fairmont is a well knows Ozzy car mate

(http://falconclub.0catch.com/images/jasonsxa.jpg) But the one in Mad max 2 looks better!! (http://www.madmaxmovies.com/cars/madmax2/RedXACoupe/thumb.jpg) Very similar to the intercepter, a 1973 XB GT Ford Falcon Coupe, a car exclusive to Australia. Title: Re: your ultimate car Post by: Urban Terrorist on November 02, 2005, 10:59:40 PM Found this cool model that someone's built on www.madmaxmovies.com (http://www.madmaxmovies.com)

Title: Re: your ultimate car Post by: yoda on November 03, 2005, 12:33:23 PM I know the alfa is ugly, but that somehow makes it desirable, and to be honest if i had the money i would have a TVR but for some reason the ugly alfa has always stuck inmy mind as a bit of a hooligan car
Yoda Title: Re: your ultimate car Post by: summer on November 03, 2005, 12:58:40 PM so you like the mini marcos then?
Title: Re: your ultimate car Post by: yoda on November 03, 2005, 01:13:55 PM NOPE
Title: Re: your ultimate car Post by: Manky Monkey on November 03, 2005, 01:51:41 PM And in every branch of the armed forces at evey moment in time during WW2 Assisted by Johm Mills.Actually I prefer the silver Fairmont to the Max one -I guess I'm just not particularly ruffty tuffty! Love the Jenson Interceptor. Didn't Roger Moore drive one of those in the Persuaders? Played Lord Brock I think, with him racing Tony Curtis in a Ferrari in the opening credits. Cool theme tune too. Title: Re: your ultimate car Post by: Borgy on November 03, 2005, 02:01:09 PM Spider wasn't it that Tony had
Lord Brett Sinclair was played by Roger Title: Re: your ultimate car Post by: Manky Monkey on November 03, 2005, 02:06:29 PM Ahh Brett, not Brock. Well I was very young when it was on the telly. Was still a great theme tune though. What a mine of useless info you are Mr B!
Brock is an old Wiltshire name for a badger you know, as opposed to Spock, who was a bloke wiv pointy ears in Startrek. |
