Title: Re: my daily Post by: BikerGran on January 29, 2008, 10:41:21 PM Well you have to tell us ignorant ones a bit more about it - like what it is?
And then as you showed me yours, I might show you mine! (Not that mine would go in the Hotrod section!) Title: Re: my daily Post by: Manky Monkey on January 29, 2008, 10:52:48 PM Erm, Opel maybe? Very tidy.

does it have the dog leg first gear? If you take the front bumper off, the grill carries on behind it,looks like its not ment to have one, nice car. Title: Re: my daily Post by: tazet on January 30, 2008, 05:47:15 PM Thanks Dave ;D
Title: Re: my daily Post by: poprodder on January 30, 2008, 05:49:30 PM grant wheel, just need to find a boss.
(http://media3.dropshots.com/photos/64941/20071230/130335.jpg) flake for the roof, (http://media5.dropshots.com/photos/64941/20071201/165839.jpg) going to look at a 2.3v6 to fit in place of vauxhall lump as it knocks when cold and takes a minute for oil pressure to build up. cheers chris. Title: Re: my daily Post by: poprodder on March 09, 2008, 07:02:21 PM hi everyone, the engine transplant has begun(even though I have'nt got another to put in!!!)
first of I managed to get a locking petrol cap to replace the one that did'nt. (http://media3.dropshots.com/photos/64941/20071030/151011.jpg) yes I know it needs a wash!! (http://media5.dropshots.com/photos/64941/20080309/133043.jpg) rad, shroud and airfilter removed. (http://media3.dropshots.com/photos/64941/20080309/133134.jpg) (http://media3.dropshots.com/photos/64941/20080309/133149.jpg) ring gear is a little chewed, i've seen worse. I think maybe rear oil seal has gone as starter pinoin etc was coated nicely with oil!!! (http://media5.dropshots.com/photos/64941/20080309/133319.jpg) will need to be keeping power steering pump, hope I can mount it up to the v6 with out many problems. (http://media5.dropshots.com/photos/64941/20080309/133409.jpg) engine mounts look simple on drivers side, cannot see passenger side yet. (http://media5.dropshots.com/photos/64941/20080309/133433.jpg) thats it for now but should progress during the week and end up with a big hole waiting for a v6. cheers chris. Title: Re: my daily Post by: Manky Monkey on March 09, 2008, 11:46:32 PM I think Madron might have a V6 motor. Maybe.
Title: Re: my daily Post by: poprodder on April 25, 2008, 05:54:34 PM hi,

Title: Re: my daily Post by: poprodder on April 29, 2008, 05:17:01 PM cheers mate,
i got hold of a v6 and box then had a whole host of problems mating the two(spigot bearings etc etc!!!) well a four speed rocket box appeared on ebay in great yarmouth! so a bit of bartering its now sitting behind a v6 :D this is how it looks now. the v6 and box are at least in the car!! (http://media3.dropshots.com/photos/64941/20080427/044130.jpg) sits in there nice(plenty of room for an 8 ;) ) (http://media3.dropshots.com/photos/64941/20080427/164517.jpg) loads an loads of room without rad!!! (http://media3.dropshots.com/photos/64941/20080427/164532.jpg) loads of room with rad in place!! (http://media4.dropshots.com/photos/64941/20080427/164803.jpg) plenty of room around bellhousing (http://media4.dropshots.com/photos/64941/20080427/164836.jpg) a nice big round chrome airfilter me thinks. (http://media5.dropshots.com/photos/64941/20080427/165011.jpg) got some more pics to put up showing how far out the vauxhall engine mounts are!!! cheers chris. Title: Re: my daily Post by: VALLEYSBOY on April 29, 2008, 09:20:35 PM nice one thats all fits with room to work on it s**t you could hide a couple of deck chairs in there or sheep ;D
Title: Re: my daily Post by: twolanes on April 30, 2008, 07:55:55 AM looking good mate, 1 thing you might need a fan shroud or an electric fan, as the fan is a long way from the radiator.
Title: Re: my daily Post by: shabby on April 30, 2008, 08:34:41 AM use an electric fan as engine fans drain horse power
Title: Re: my daily Post by: Manky Monkey on April 30, 2008, 10:02:45 AM Yeah, 'leccy fans just drain batteries -as we've found a couple of times on the trikes when the fans have been left running.
I've been told an electric fan instead of a mechanical one saves 3 -5 bhp on a Reliant engine. Doesn't sound much until you realise they only have 40bhp to start with. Title: Re: my daily Post by: VALLEYSBOY on April 30, 2008, 12:56:56 PM um how often have they flattened yer batteries manky?
Title: Re: my daily Post by: shabby on April 30, 2008, 01:20:57 PM wire them up to the thermostat like in the car and should no flatten the battery's
Title: Re: my daily Post by: Manky Monkey on April 30, 2008, 01:59:13 PM Yeah, mine'll be wired into the 'stat. Ska Man's is on all the time the ignition's on I think & Flap's is on a seperate switch. Not sure about Simon's. Once or twice while we've been messing about with the trikes they've been left running by mistake.
Title: Re: my daily Post by: VALLEYSBOY on April 30, 2008, 08:24:37 PM ar ok ;D
Title: Re: my daily Post by: poprodder on May 02, 2008, 05:03:19 PM hi,
