Title: Going to start a new trike project with a vespa, 250cc engine and a load of tube
Post by: Bikerpsyco on December 03, 2007, 03:47:33 PM
hey guys what do yall recon im going to start my trike project soon its going to be quite unusual but i think it will be a laugh, ive got hold of an old vespa with no engine and im going to make a hardtail frame coming off the back and then mount a 250cc chain driven bike engine sideways in the frame so i can link it with a shaft straight to a reliant or rascal axle i have a poor computer drawing of what it might look like on paint. Any comments? ;D :o ;)

How many projects are you doing now? You are going to need a hanger to store everything soon. What's happened to the MR2 thing?

I to know what a triumph tina is, a sixties attempt to grab some of the market held by lambretta and vespa. they all tried it, bsa dandy, ariel leader even the usa with the cushman. Ive talked to bike shop owners who are bikers and they say a vespa engine is a perfect engine, no chain, no valves,no tensioners, just one complete little package, and no im not a mod and never have been, each cult has its good bits.

oh well i like it and it did set a trend as it was the first fully automatic scooter so it did its bit for history, it will be something different at the shows instead of a vespa or lambretta which alot of people have.
i do agree that the vespa engine is bulletproof and if its linked to a lambretta then you have the perfect scooter ;D but hey mines just as good becvause i have 2 spare engines ha ha  ;D ;).

My first 2 wheel ride was a BSA Dandy - they didn't try it for very long, only made them for about a year I think, terrible thing!

I would love a Tina, a mate has a really nice Heinkel that he is restoring for someone in his barn plus a couple of strange 60's scooters rusting in his shed. Will have to pop in for a look.
