Our frames mostly run 45 degrees. Yes, they do dip slightly but not excessively. I'm wondering whether you've got an unusually long frame, (sorry to be so personal!), which might exaggerate the problem? We all have wide bars which help with the turning thing as we get that all important extra leverage, but have you tried turning on the move or just when the trike's parked up? With 45 degrees the steering will be heavy, but only at low, carpark type speeds. As soon as you get rolling on the open road the heaviness disappears. However, it'll be more stable in straight lines than less raked trikes. And yes, photos! We want photos. :) Oh, by the way, the marching bear avatar's already taken mate. Belongs to Triker Pete & will cause confusion. Could you change it please? Cheers ;) ;D So how about writing us a piece on refurbishing your trike then matey? Right. Adding photos to posts: You have to write something in the message box, even if it's just a full stop -don't ask me why but you do. Click on Additional Options. Then click on Browse. Find your photo on your computer. Double click on the photo then click Post. Easy. The photos have to be something like 600 x 600 & in JPEG, GIF, TXT, DOC, or PDF format. You can post up to 4 photos in one reply by clicking More Attachments, providing they're small enough. Or you can host your photos somewhere like PhotoBucket or TinyPic & cut & paste the URL into the forum reply. Thanks for changing the avatar by the way. ;) Title: Re: front end rake Post by: cideray on October 17, 2007, 11:54:06 AM a couple of pics not very good i'm afraid

Title: Re: front end rake Post by: dracken1 on October 23, 2007, 10:30:01 PM a couple of options are available to you. firstly it's not the rake as such that is making your steering heavy, it's the trail. fitting yokes with more offset, by that i mean yokes were the fork tube centre line is further forward from the steering stem than it is now,.
or taking a little rake away and fitting raked yokes. get it right and 45 degrees of rake is steerable with just finger and thumb Title: Re: front end rake Post by: Manky Monkey on October 24, 2007, 11:53:48 AM Yup, one handed riding's fine on ours, but when manouvering around carparks & the like the rake/trail tends to drop the front wheel over onto full lock as soon as it moves off the centreline, making the steering feel heavy.
Nice to see you back Wynne. ;) Title: Re: front end rake Post by: cideray on October 26, 2007, 06:55:24 AM sorry for delay in replying been to foreign parts [wales] thanks for addvice will get back at it and post some pics when i have more done thanks again ray
