So when do we get some write ups on them for the site then? ;D Title: Re: Some pics of my old cars Post by: Nomad on September 23, 2007, 07:48:40 PM (http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa272/Quzzy_photos/myoldcars3.jpg)
Title: Re: Some pics of my old cars Post by: Manky Monkey on September 23, 2007, 07:50:30 PM You seem to have a thing about Minis! What's that little thingy with the quad lights?
Title: Re: Some pics of my old cars Post by: Nomad on September 23, 2007, 07:51:12 PM Good grief!
Once again I have fallen into the MM guilt trip trap (easy for me to say) Pick one and I will.....hurrumph Title: Re: Some pics of my old cars Post by: Nomad on September 23, 2007, 07:56:51 PM Its a Mini based Stimson Trek.
It had four wheels unlike its predecessor that had a single rear wheel, the Stimson Scorcher. Barry Stimson let me build the first fully working prototype, pictured. I kept it for ten years and sold it to someone who kept it for about 8 years and I rebuilt it for him to sell. I took the purple Mini to Holland for a mini Treffen and he took the Trek. See, that was nearly a write up :o Title: Re: Some pics of my old cars Post by: Manky Monkey on September 23, 2007, 08:05:55 PM You don't get off that lightly my friend!
Nearly a write up but not quite. Which would you say was your favourite? Are you simply a very enthusiastic ammateur or were you involved in a business in some way to have so much transport passing through your hands? And when do we get the write up on the Chevy? ;D Title: Re: Some pics of my old cars Post by: Nomad on September 23, 2007, 08:10:56 PM Nope just an ammeter.
An old ammeter....... Title: Re: Some pics of my old cars Post by: Nomad on September 23, 2007, 08:17:22 PM Pic of my first bike
Well an identical one. Bought her when I was 13, called Gertie. Shes got a lot to answer for http://www.vintagebike.co.uk/Bike%20Directories/OthersStoZ/pages/Trojan-Trobike-61.htm Favourite ever was the Consul Capri 1500GT Do you want some bike pics or am I getting boring now? Title: Re: Some pics of my old cars Post by: Manky Monkey on September 23, 2007, 08:26:09 PM What a fabulous machine! Brock's looking for a cool pit bike to take to drag meets at the moment. That'd be ideal!
More! Give us more! -You do realise I expect full features on each one now don't you? Title: Re: Some pics of my old cars Post by: Nomad on September 23, 2007, 10:54:41 PM <pouts>
<goes and sharpens quill> Title: Re: Some pics of my old cars Post by: yoda on September 24, 2007, 08:32:14 AM I see you had a rotrax, i also used to have one of those 'death traps' too
great fun but deadly ;D ;D we swapped it for something more useable An Eagle SS (and i thought the rotrax was deathtrap) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D we currently have a Sylva Jester (http://www.bikerlifestyle.co.uk/features/other/Sylva/2.jpg) this is similar to mine but mine was in blue with the multicoloured seats (http://www.uxbridgekitcars.co.uk/stock/enlargements/rotrax.jpg) Title: Re: Some pics of my old cars Post by: Nomad on September 24, 2007, 11:10:19 AM Hi Yoda, it was actually a Dakar, based on a shortened Range Rover chassis.
Rotax is Suzuki, no? It was safer than a rangey because the C of G was lower. It was however all together colder and wetter (I only fitted the top roof section so no doors) Title: Re: Some pics of my old cars Post by: yoda on September 24, 2007, 04:32:13 PM Rotrax were the early Dakars based on pintos and cortina running gear
handling was err interesting Title: Re: Some pics of my old cars Post by: Nomad on September 24, 2007, 10:23:27 PM aha, cheers
