my cx500 trike is getting on my last nerve now lol
a couple of night ago it started well and ran well got to my destination.Stooped the trike and the bitch wouldn't start.
It took me over 30 mins to get it started then it ran well for a day.
Today(Saturday) started well drove 15 miles no problems stop turned off the trike and it now wont start again.The spark seem very weak.Ive changed the cdi unit checked the coils checked all the wiring.Took all the meter reading and every things coming back as ok  ???but it frigging well ain't ok lol  :o anybody got any ideas??

Sure it's electrical? Sounds more like fuel -or lack of it, to me.

got plenty of fuel i thought the same as you
so i undid the screw at the bottom of the carb and fuel come pouring out
i think i will strip the carbs down tomorrow just to make sure  that the fuel is getting through to the engine

floats may be sticking? fuel out of the bottom only tells u that the pump is working ok,diafram is that ok? jets dirty?

Too much fuel?  Floodding?  Float sticking?  Choke sticking on?  Whats the state of the plugs when you do a plug chop?

When you did your meter readings was it hot or cold?  I had a prob with a generator that only showed up on a meter when it was hot (cos it weas overheating) - it tested fine when cold!

hi all
got the engine out today took the back of the casing off to check the pick ups in there
it looks like waters got it there so I'm gonna dry it out and stick it all back together and hope thats all it is
will let ya know the outcome in a couple of days

I didn't know you did them on car engines - how?  On a bike I just rev up and hit the kill switch.  But maybe you have a kill switch on a race car....

As for 'reading' them - Mr Haynes tells how!  But I learnt most of the little I know about engines from some real enthusiasts in my club, who've been building or rebuilding bikes all their lives.

I'd love to crew on a race car but sadly I think my days for that are past.  :-\

LMAO he ain't fuggin kidding, cold evenings in his back garden trying to resurrect the dead (his 1st Triumph), bloody thing that was electrical joints taped up with band aid not even the waterproof type, it was the fabric type, all soggy and wet.

More bloody shorts than a snow white movie.

More like a horror story than Snow White. I'd managed to forget that one till now. Thanks mate!

all sorted it was something screwed up in the back of the engine i think it was the pick ups
i change the whole back plate with my spare and she starts on the button again now
