Title: Parts list for metro rear discs with handbrake and a question too Post by: lizardking on May 25, 2007, 05:41:51 PM Just finished my disc conversion on my metro trike
Parts used Metro uprights New 8.4 inch discs New Saab 9000 calipers S/H Volvo 440 caliper carriers New Land Rover clutch master cylinder Braided hoses throughout New pads 2 8mm steel kidney shaped brackets to fix carriers to uprights If it don't move it's loctited and I've used stainless fasteners wherever I could hope this list helps anyone thinking of doing the same Is there any way of increasing the braking efficiency of this set up without using a pig ugly remote servo? How long will his set up take to bed in? Don't get me wrong they work but I want the best brakes I can possibly get Title: Re: Parts list for metro rear discs with handbrake and a question too Post by: Manky Monkey on May 25, 2007, 07:29:54 PM Got any photos? Always looking for techy articles for the site if you feel like scribbling a quick run down of what's involved mate.
The Nova disc/VW Golf caliper set-up we use was pure guesswork, but seems to work. I'm sure it could be much more efficient but it does the job. Without seeing your set-up it's hard to say where it could be improved.
