I know it might sound a stupid question to be asking but when i come to paint my gear box do i need to use any particular type of paint ? cheers.....Willy

I wouldnt of thought so. It doesnt get too hot, Jst make sure its well cleaned and degreased and not going to leak gearbox oil onto your fresh paint!

From an aesthetic and also a practical point of view, I would suggest that if you're painting the engine you use the same, otherwise the same as you use on the axle?

Any paint will do BUT....... If it's made of ally make sure you use a special metals primer. Avaiable at all good DIY outlets otherwise it will peel off in no time!
