Title: driveshaft nuts Post by: C J on April 24, 2007, 06:28:43 PM Is there different sizes of nuts used on the end of reliant driveshafts?I got a pair of new ones recently, and when I went to fit them they wouldnt go on fully.at a quick glance the driveshaft seems to be a finer thread, are some metric and others imperial ?

We've always assumed they were all the same size -until Simon's didn't fit. I'll ring Michaels of Selby, the Yorkshire Reliant dealer I get my spares from, & get back to you.

Title: Re: driveshaft nuts Post by: C J on May 19, 2007, 05:55:30 PM I finally got the correct nuts 5/8 UNF , they were still a bit tight but I think the ends of the driveshafts have had a knock sometime in their life and were a bit mushroomed, however I made a paste with cutting oil and fine grinding paste and they are now running freely.
