Title: Re: Stretched pick up. Post by: panthershaun on April 03, 2007, 07:52:14 PM Not my kind of car, carry to many people and not enough bikes :-\ ;)
Title: Re: Stretched pick up. Post by: BikerGran on April 03, 2007, 07:59:44 PM I'm inclined to think all those stretch vehicles look a bit daft.
Now there's a challenge - show me one that looks good! Title: Re: Stretched pick up. Post by: Manky Monkey on April 03, 2007, 10:57:18 PM ;D
I think the whole, bunch of Chavs in a limo, thing is decidedly tacky myself. Should've kept it as a normal front end with a stretched pick up bed. Title: Re: Stretched pick up. Post by: yx600 on April 04, 2007, 07:17:26 AM I'm inclined to think all those stretch vehicles look a bit daft... Flounces off to a corner to sulk..... ;D :P The BFC Bus (http://usera.imagecave.com/bfc2006/e4f3.jpg) Title: Re: Stretched pick up. Post by: Manky Monkey on April 04, 2007, 12:52:17 PM ;D
Hi Chris. Don't worry, your work hasn't been in vain. That's actually pretty cool. Odd, but cool. I trust you took lots of photos of the build to illustrate your write up on what was involved? Title: Re: Stretched pick up. Post by: yx600 on April 04, 2007, 01:23:21 PM Wasnt my work Manky, :D Not quite that gifted :P
Devon conversion, Cut & shut and added 30" - used to be patient/special needs transport. What did surprise me though, I always though altering the length of a vehicle needed like a 'V' type of cut. On the bus I can trace it in a single straight line, mind you, the chassis main members are hooog Title: Re: Stretched pick up. Post by: Manky Monkey on April 04, 2007, 01:25:49 PM Shame. Would've made an interesting read.
Title: Re: Stretched pick up. Post by: yx600 on April 04, 2007, 01:31:26 PM Best tale I can give you is the 6ft long inner/outer sill that it needed for its last MOT :-\

Post by: brock on April 04, 2007, 06:39:45 PM that bus is very near the ideal comp altered transporter and motor home when the car is out, brilliant.
Title: Re: Stretched pick up. Post by: yx600 on April 05, 2007, 01:26:15 PM That was the idea.
Stall & stock inside for travel, when its all set up then I have a nice warm doss space.... just need to get round to fitting a bed/cooker unit. But the camping gear does for now :D Collected my FJ in it last year. Going to Blackpool on Monday to collect Mrs BFC's new FJ in it. Would probably get 4 bikes plus kit in very easy, low floor too, about 3" above the bottom of the sills Title: Re: Stretched pick up. Post by: Firery Fred on April 06, 2007, 04:00:49 PM Just a mo,did someone say "a whole bunch of chavs in a limmo",well praise the lord and pass the Carl Gustav
Title: Re: Stretched pick up. Post by: BikerGran on April 08, 2007, 08:47:32 PM Would be great for going to the TT - stick 4 bikes in the back, pay for one vehicle. Lotys of folks do that.
Wish I was going this year. Title: Re: Stretched pick up. Post by: Manky Monkey on April 08, 2007, 09:53:37 PM Never been but know lots of folk who rave about it.
Anyone from here going? Title: Re: Stretched pick up. Post by: BikerGran on April 09, 2007, 10:51:24 AM Can't see me going again cos it would cost a fortune for the trike on the ferry - bad enough for a bike!
