Title: toyota mr2
Post by: klogan45 on February 26, 2007, 06:47:29 PM
Hi guys, I may be being mental here ;D but has anyone heard, seen etc of a Toyota mr2 trike? Any thoughts, that are writable on the open forum?
The thinking is this. Its a rear wheel drive with mid engine, so the gear shift will have the necessary linkages, and should be quite quick :o
Any thought appreciated.
(It's not for me, honest its for a mate, really and honestly  :-[ :-[)
Thanks
K

dont know about the mr2 but a few years back i saw a lotus in a pub car park and was getting ideas, just as the owner came out and spoke to me and my mate admiring my motor lads, and he was gobsmacked :o and not very impressed when we mentioned getting a 9 inch grinder and stihl saw to one of these motors and triking it, ;D ;D ;D ;D not that we could afford one, maybe if i won the lottery  ;)

Mike repo'd a Lotus Elite once, one of these...

Best thing you could do with it would be trike it, I hated it!  Didn't like the looks and certainly didn't like the way it felt to sit in or the interior.

Would be damn quick too! They do a 1.6(?) 16v up to 2l turbo ones! Ive seen a few pushing out nearly 500bhp! Not that you'd need that in a trike! Mk 2s are cheaper than mk 1s at the moment as the older ones are now considered something of a classic.

Thanks guys, will pass it on to the "nearly son in law" The git's just bought one for £40, how lucky is that  :o It's apparently got a good box and engine so looking good for him.
Lotus+stihlsaw+9inch grinder+ Springers = SUPERTRIKE

Hows this for a coincidence?. I was just reading an old BSH on the bog, and saw a white MR2 trike in the classifieds.
If I can get our scanner to work, I will post a pic.
It was in Issue 243, July 2004.
