Title: reliant axle Post by: harley gazz on January 31, 2007, 03:45:52 PM hello all you brainy boffins what ,s the max, safe speed ya can put through a reliant axle without :o chewin up the crown wheel as i think these motors were only capable of 70 ish mph ;)thankyou.
Title: Re: reliant axle Post by: Manky Monkey on January 31, 2007, 04:11:35 PM My green Reliant trike would touch 90 if I pushed it hard & would cruise all day at 75 - 80.
I've seen plenty of bike engined trikes running Reliant axles apparently without problems. What are you planning on using? Title: Re: reliant axle Post by: harley gazz on January 31, 2007, 04:27:43 PM hi ya manky did ya get me dosh in the post ???,the motor im going to run is a big vtwin 1450,motor jus wonderin if between 70 an 90 will be ok or get my son who works at a breakers to source me a stronger axle but then i would ave to shorten it, as the reliant ones are just a nice size ;)
Title: Re: reliant axle Post by: Manky Monkey on January 31, 2007, 05:10:01 PM O.K, now I'm confused!
Would you be Gary in Derby? Cos I've just posted a shirt to you, but thought it was TerrorTubby! Are you both called Gary? Nice avatar by the way! Title: Re: reliant axle Post by: panthershaun on January 31, 2007, 08:17:12 PM A mate used to have a regal with a tuned 1275 GT mini motor in and he never had any problems with his axle and we saw over the ton on a couple of occasions, or should I say I experienced it over the ton as I must admit to having my eyes shut as we bounced down the A21 :-X :-[ ::) :o
Title: Re: reliant axle Post by: Manky Monkey on February 01, 2007, 02:40:46 PM Yeah, the trikes handle fine, but I find 75- 80's plenty when you're sat on a rigid frame, 20 inches off the deck! You don't need speed to have fun on a trike.
Hoodies? Argh! Do you realise how much running about's involved in this merchandise thing?! The embroidered patches are ready now, so you buy one & sew it on a hoodie I guess. If you wanted one embroidered, like the workshirts, it could be done as a special order. Not sure if the logo could be printed on the back. We've got to keep the normal merchandise to a sensible level & just stock what people will regularly buy. I have to pay for everything from my own pocket until your cheques arrive & just can't afford to keep huge stocks of gear piled up on the off chance someone will buy it. I could sell you a T shirt pre-holed if you want one! Title: Re: reliant axle Post by: harley gazz on February 01, 2007, 07:02:15 PM talkin of holes the one ya just sent me has got three small holes in and one large hole at the base ??? :D :D

Title: Re: reliant axle Post by: Manky Monkey on February 01, 2007, 10:49:38 PM DT, please tell me those holes are the ones you put yer head, arms & belly through!
