Title: I'm a pensioner
Post by: Manky Monkey on March 01, 2017, 11:10:16 AM
I hit 55 years old a couple of weeks ago, which means I can start drawing my Post Office pension.
So today's the day -should have a small lump sum payment in my bank account this morning & start racking up the monthly pension payments from today, (first payment at the end of this month ready for the first of next month).
Just can't believe I'm officially a pensioner! In my head I'm just as stupid as I was at 17. Haven't learnt a thing. Had some great times, met some fantastic people, loved, cried ...lived. Where did all those years go?
Not feeling sad at all -got loads to look forward to -new motorcycle, truck back on the road soon, sunny days on the way, I'm still reasonably fit & healthy, still in regular employment, (thank you Royal Mail for keeping me off the streets for 30 years!), a new relationship with a lovely lady slowly blossoming. Life is good. But I can't be a pensioner yet, can I?

Welcome to club old boy!!

Next step (pun) is you'll be wantin' a neat little mobility walking frame like wot me & Dslam have.......... or maybe a partime job in a certain DIY store, and there's all those luverlee insurance offers for those of a certain age.

Now the important bit - does your "lovely lady" ride a motorcycle, and can she weld?  ;D

Those are great. Love the Woody. Anyone fancy customising my scooter?

"(thank you Royal Mail for keeping me off the streets for 30 years!)"

Thought the opposite was true.
Make the most of retirement or semi retirement if you can get it. Too many folk never get that far. Or if they do, are in no shape to enjoy it.

Started planning my mobility scooter. Gonna need longer forks though. :D
