Title: Banana Splits Post by: Manky Monkey on February 26, 2017, 12:24:44 PM Just discovered Barry White, the Lurve Walrus, wrote Doin' the Banana Split. How bizarre is that.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXbs2FHqaWw Mind you, I can't believe Quincy Jones penned both the supremely cool On days like these & Self preservation society for the Italian Job either, (still one of my favourite films). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNZaVlOA3rk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIechPy5ycc Title: Re: Banana Splits Post by: BikerGran on February 26, 2017, 09:35:46 PM Lots of well known singers were songwriters before they were recorded - Barry Manilow (aka Mary Benditoy), Neil Diamond, and others less well known. Ever heard of a country singer called Jerry Jeff Walker? Nope, thought not. But he wrote Mr Tambourine Man, as well as a lot of other stuff.

Title: Re: Banana Splits Post by: JayJay on February 27, 2017, 12:25:16 AM I've got a trivia quiz app on my phone (called Trivia 360 by Smart Owl Apps for those who enjoy that type of thing) and after over 8000 questions I am still getting asked new ones. Quincy Jones & the Italian Job was one of them. As it is multiple choice I only got it right because the others seemed unlikely. I was surprised it was true too.
