Title: Reliantman found this
Post by: panthershaun on January 01, 2007, 10:52:55 AM
Just got to share this with you guys, Reliantman posted this on the BritChopper forum and I think it is loverly ;D only needs a set of wires on the back and a proper engine (Panther) and it would be ideal ;D ;D ;D

I have a set of wires, tractor seat, girders, Panther main frame and the diff so this is what I hope to build...

Ooh, ooh, ooh!!!
I lurve that! A Brit motor, wires on the back, a Sporty tank & ditch that bloody American flag on the back & I'll take it. Have it wrapped & delivered to my mansion.

That is a wonderful Trike, like you said Andy wires on the back would make it look almost perfect

Thanks for posting that, Shaun.
I would have put it here myself but I don't like putting the same stuff on loads of different forums, and I know we all visit anyway.
I think I would have lost the turbo, and fitted beach bars and a pair of wide e-type Jag wires instead.

I like that, a lot, but in the true spirit of the game let's rip the poor guy's efforts apart. I agree that the tank needs changing, something that's base follows the cross tube of the frame would be nice. Wires on the back would also be good, or maybe deep smooth steels in black with chrome baby caps and beauty rings. If it were mine (I wish) I would also change the head light, I just feel it wants more of a presence up there, I keep looking at the 7 inch shells that the "7" type roadsters use with the Angel Eyes lamp where the sidelight is round the outside edge of the unit. Other than that it really is very good. Now tell me about that frame, is that a VolksWagon front trailing link used at the bottom with a rod ended radius set above ?, is there a torsion bar buried under there? I think it might actually be quite clever, anyone got any more photos ?

Spent many hours in my youth, sitting on one of those.  It was attached to a tractor, tho.

Does look very similar to vw link pin front trailing arms.

Hi Brock, you got any more info on those 7" angel eye lamps?

Do you mean like these? These are meant for a mini so dont have any shells for them, and come in pairs!

Hi Pete, not ignoring you , I was trying to find the magazine that I had seen the conversion in , failed dismally. the units pictured look very similar as I recall , they are marketed as headlamps so should comply. The Mini uses a 7" lamp so they should fit inside a shell built to take one, you might have to bond in a frame to fix it to. Those ones look to be about £40

http://www.minisport.com/classic-mini-shop/products/lights-ice-electrical-switches/lighting-1/front-lighting/headlamps/crystal-angel-eye-headlamps-product.html

which is a bit better than the £300 odd for E50 Beemer ones.

As Brock said the lights pictured are 40 quid a pair from minisport.
They did a universal angel eye kit to fit into a 7" light and act as the sidelight. I think my paintshop can supply them, Ill go an find a catalogue.

Hi Lunatic, thanks for input. the sidelight thingy would look good. yeserday I saw a range rover type thing with horseshoe shaped sidelights around mainlight. when you find catalogue you will have to let me know. Not in a rush though as still trying to save for a remote servo :( Never been so skint :'(
