something that will condition and keep the battery in tip top condition. ive done all the usual internet searches and come up with loads lol can you guys recommend any ? thanks mick ps its for a car battery on my trike pps lead acid battery Title: Re: battery charger Post by: Stix on September 04, 2016, 07:55:19 AM Optimiser I think it is called, only a trickle charger but will cut off when battery is full and they come with leads to fix to the battery if it is in a hard to get to place so you can just plug in without removing panels to get to battery.

Mine's just called a battery charger but I haven't had to buy a new battery for the trike since I had this charger, plugged in all the time, different coloured lights show what it's doing. No idea what it's called, had it for years!

I have heard a few inc myself, they can mask faults when left over winter, my kawi battery was showing ok on the optimiser and started the bike, ,, however when I tried again it was flat, good job I didn't set off anywhere, >:( tried it again, after an hour the optimiser said ok, yet after 1 start it was nearly flat again, I have heard this a few times through friends and the internet, theres cheaper unbranded chargers that do the same trick, great if you cant get to the battery easy, or cant be arsed in winter, but check the battery over properly before using... i just use a normal charger now, and do it the old tried and trusted way , (remove battery, keep warm, discharge and recharge every few months)always seems to work,,, i noticed the optimate doesn't like moped size batterys often either, just sits there with the lights flashing....my mates does the same Title: Re: battery charger Post by: Tony oily bike on September 10, 2016, 05:04:43 PM Had similar happenings with that brand, am now using the BC (Battery Controller) make, and so far, so good.......... plus it also brought a battery back to life that was irretrievable with the other brand.
