Title: V5 Post by: Hillbilly 101 on May 15, 2016, 04:54:01 PM Just wondering if this v5 is correct for a hardtail trike?
Thanks (http://i1070.photobucket.com/albums/u492/michaellane92/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20160515_173650_zps7qmk4llq.jpg) (http://s1070.photobucket.com/user/michaellane92/media/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20160515_173650_zps7qmk4llq.jpg.html) Title: Re: V5 Post by: mrhutch on May 15, 2016, 05:54:00 PM IMHO no...
if it's a trike (as we understand it) with M/C handlebars/forks and ting then it should have been re-registered. It is no longer a "Robin Super" *hides behind sofa* Title: Re: V5 Post by: Hillbilly 101 on May 15, 2016, 06:26:23 PM Well ain't that a bitch. I'm not surprised to be honest. Out of curiosity, what would happen if I continued to use it? It was mot'd before I got it (so has about 7months left) and I'm all insured on it....
I spoke to a sound guy today that was riding a rat reliant trike (original chassis but with, motorcycle forks and bars) and he said his is still registered as a reliant and hasn't had a single problem ever, MOT's I durance etc.... Title: Re: V5 Post by: mrhutch on May 15, 2016, 07:02:16 PM to be fair, most of the chaps I ride with have "reliant" trikes that have never been re-registred with DVLA.. I reckon 99% of them will never have a problem.
Having previously worked in insurance for years writing the systems that quote/'claim etc, I wouldn't want to be the 1% in the position of having mowed down the proverbial bus queue full of nuns and orphans. have a look at this - he's got a pic of his V5 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222117138784?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l5999&_trkparms=gh1g%3DI222117138784.N36.S1.R1.TR6 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222117138784?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l5999&_trkparms=gh1g%3DI222117138784.N36.S1.R1.TR6) Title: Re: V5 Post by: Olds on May 15, 2016, 07:04:09 PM If you get pulled over at a vehicle check, or for a traffic violation you run the risk of being prosecuted and the vehicle would almost certainly be siezed and probably destoyed. More importantly, if you have a serious accident the insurance company possibly won't pay up.
Sorry. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222117138784?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l5999_trkparms=gh1g%3DI222117138784.N36.S1.R1.TR6 Looks like the vehicle above is a trike project with parts from a Reliant kitten I believe and also the V5c from a different vehicle. Title: Re: V5 Post by: mrhutch on May 15, 2016, 07:31:33 PM Good, I thought I may be wrong!
Here's my V5 Title: Re: V5 Post by: stinkey on May 15, 2016, 07:53:36 PM Looks ok to me ? Says tricycle and it's on a Q plate ?
Title: Re: V5 Post by: spanners on May 15, 2016, 09:00:55 PM 99, times out 100 if its on a Q,, its good , just dont understand people that say a Q, plate is a problem at least being on a Q, means that at some point its been inspected
i would always buy a Q, plated trike rather than a ,,,robin///realto,// regal,, or ,,,super van ,, V5,, trike Title: Re: V5 Post by: Hillbilly 101 on May 15, 2016, 09:08:27 PM That all makes sense, yet its mad! You'd think my insurance (bike sure) might of said something when I took the policy out, especially when i had to send them 4 clear pictures of the trike.... (Since it doesn't look like a plastic pig)!!!
Also the whole crushing the vehicle if your caught driving/riding, isn't that absolutely barmy? It passed an mot (surely the mot guy would of noticed it wasn't a plastic pig), and especially since the vehicle was insured with photographic evidence, add the fact there's no information anywhere about such things without really digging....?? Title: Re: V5 Post by: Olds on May 15, 2016, 09:40:24 PM PM sent.
