Title: NSRA Southern Swapmeet 20th March '16 Post by: Manky Monkey on January 19, 2016, 10:20:38 PM First big event of the hotrodding season. As much a chance to catch up with mates you haven't seen over the Winter as it is a chance to find that elusive ancient part to finish your project.
Organised by the National Street Rod Association & this year in partnership with North Hants Tyres. 2 sales areas, 1 for professional traders & 1 for "car booters". Sunday the 20th of March '16. 9am onwards. Arena Essex Raceway A1306 Purfleet Essex RM19 1AE. Last year I think entry was 7 quid. Be warned though, the Arena in mid March is possibly the coldest place on Earth! Dress warm. As always, bitterly cold, although dry & sunny. It almost warmed up at one point. Nice to see lots of familiar faces. Met Chevy Rick, missed Jay Jay & PantherShaun, met 3 of the guys I went to Holland with, missed the Dutch guy who organised the show we went to. Chris, ("fORGOTTEN"), & I went & both spent about 40 quid on bits & pieces, but I chatted to a couple of guys who spent 2,000 quid each. Chris actually turned down a free axle for his Chevy truck cos he couldn't be bothered to carry it back to the carpark. A good day with good people. I was hoping to try and go around once on my crutches but didn't even make it that far as I couldn't have managed those deep steps and the lady in charge said I couldn't walk up the side bit. As we were parked right next to the ticket office, I spent my time people watching instead. :D
