Title: The C word Post by: the coppersmith on December 13, 2015, 02:18:48 PM Is it to early to mention the C word?? Because today I have been assisting the wife in pouring molten chocolate over the log cakes, she has made 7 for our family. Now that is a lot of chocolate, very hazardous, some even splashed in my mouth. Tough job, but someone has to do it ;D
Title: Re: The C word Post by: hunter on December 13, 2015, 02:21:16 PM Don't mind the chocolate,
But hate the other thing. Title: Re: The C word Post by: Baychimp on December 13, 2015, 10:54:36 PM I don't like the log cakes either, I find the bark to chewy.

Title: Re: The C word Post by: Manky Monkey on December 18, 2015, 07:03:35 PM I'm guessing the C word isn't Carrot?

Title: Re: The C word Post by: SteveRedd on December 19, 2015, 10:22:44 AM we gave up pressies for anyone a while back and now spend the valuable time that would have been wasted in shops catching up with old friends...hence my recent visit.....much better use of a valuable commodity

Title: Re: The C word Post by: BikerGran on December 19, 2015, 12:21:07 PM I only shop for close family and grandchildren, but I do it online or in the local shops in our small town. None of us spend much but we have fun getting together and opening presents on our 'Non Christmas Day' when Lucy comes down from up North having spent the day with her dad cos he doesn't have anyone else. She doesn't get much chance at family life because of being so far away so it really is a special day for all of us.
Title: Re: The C word Post by: Baychimp on December 21, 2015, 12:28:05 AM I like Christmas. Especially the days off, anything that stops me having to drag my backside out of bed at five in the morning to go to work, is fine by me.

Title: Re: The C word Post by: the coppersmith on December 24, 2015, 04:45:22 PM Get yourself down the Sally Army, helped them out last year dishing out the roast, one of the best Christmases I've had in a while, real good laugh and people who appreciate you. Really, give it a try. (plus there was no religous pressure)

Not everybody will be having the Christmas they would like but Christmas is a time of giving so hopefully everyone will enjoy that aspect, whether it be a present, taking over in the kitchen to give the usual cook a rest or just giving someone a smile and the time of day. Sometimes we do forget the giving part. I know I get more pleasure out of seeing others open their gifts than opening my own pressies (I do enjoy that part too though :)). I wish you all my best this Christmas Day and I hope 2016 will be kind to us all. JJ :-* Title: Re: The C word Post by: Manky Monkey on December 25, 2015, 08:28:45 AM X
