Title: quiet
Post by: the coppersmith on October 31, 2015, 09:17:27 PM
Seems a bit quiet on here, all busy beavering away on our projects, setting deadlines. Or, do monkeys hibernate when the clocks go back  ?? ;D ;D ;D

When the clocks go back I get busy counting my nuts , Jaffa cakes and Iron Bru to ensure that I can survive the winter while the Haggis hibernate.  ;D

:D I've been on holiday, then had no internet for a couple of days -I was expecting to come back & find the place burnt to the ground or something. I think they're all trick or treating.

Well Stix is stuck in sunny Spain with limited internet..I'm feeling rough with a stinking cold..it's that transition between summer and winter which brings us down I think ? No enthusiasm ?

Spent all day trying to work on my bike, but actually just running back & forth, picking up parts for it. Managed to fit one brake pipe end fitting -then found I've got the wrong one for the other end.
I'm not a hot weather person but I do find the short days depressing. Just never seem to get anything done.

Two gorgeous days down here in west wales, trike not ready and even worse, spent the whole weekend under my daughters honda civic...
Was really hoping to get some kayaking in too.
Really looking forward to finishing the trike, been faffing around with the cissy bar and pad, so ticking off the jobs one by one.

Had a lovely quiet Sunday. Took the kit car on a tour of Devon, 240 mile round trip, lunch in a Exmoor pub, got my feet wet paddling in the sea at Westwood Ho, Linton and Lynmouth for an ice cream (99) blast across Exmoo back to the M5, boring bit back to Plymouth. Roads were quiet mainly and wall to wall sunshine. Great end to the open top year I think. The old Dolly Sprint motor behaved, even the overdrive did what I wanted. As ole pop Larkin would Say " purrfeck" :D :D

Yeah, wish I'd had a bike or something to enjoy the weather on. As you say, a nice way to end the season.
Not another project Mike?!
And Andy -writing?

It's my other long term project. I have been working on a part-time MPhil for the last few years and its now write up time so the car build takes second place until the thesis has been submitted.

I hate it that my trike's off the road on the really nice days we've had!  What's the betting as soon as it's done, the winter will kick in?

That said, I'm seriously thinking about getting back on two wheels (in a very small way) just for local riding!

Many thanks, but its just like a car build part from you end up with a book. Andy
