i went to to the kickback custom bike show on sunday at donnington park. it was combined with the national trike show and cubfest. was billed as being really big but was a bit disappointing on arrival, nowhere near the amount of vehicles i expected  :( but met some nice people and made new friends so all good  ;D

I'd half thought of going on Sunday, but opted to work on my truck instead. Did you take your trike?
Some nice bikes. I like the little red Triumph, but not sure about the front end.

yes i did go on the trike. 260 mile round trip. was a bit numb when i got back. my trike ended up in the hall on display when i did get there  :D. clutch cable snapped on the way there but with help carried out some roadside repairs and alls good  ;D

your time was better spent on your truck mate. there were not many more vehicles than what i have taken photos of. shame really, the way it was billed and spoken of seemed like it was going to be huge with hundreds of bikes and trikes and stalls. not many of either.

was a nice guy there doing custom paint jobs on leather waistcoats and jackets etc, his own cut is the alien one http://www.artonleather.co.uk/Custom_jacket_art.php he was doing an ozzy ozborn one whilst i was there.

was a good day out in the end,like i said met some new people and made some new friends. oh and got some new gloves  ;D

The rubbish summer is one of the factors, but the days of mega crowds and trade stands full of stuff have died a death I'm afraid...shame but it will be a good few years before that returns..

Trike on display -well done chap!
I've been to the Bike Shed show at Tobacco Dock in the heart of London for the last couple of years. What I'd call new wave bikers but others might refer to as hipsters. People who enjoy riding & building something creative & original, but aren't the usual old school grubby leather waistcoat & bandana brigade. Not everyone's taste, but I must admit I prefer that style of event to traditional bike rallies. Sort of a cross over between hotrods & bikes.
The Bike Shed show's almost as much about the venue as the bikes. Tobacco Dock's a cool place & you don't need hundreds of bikes to fill it. It's a bit more like an art show than a biker do. I suspect the Kickback show was trying to copy that style, but it just doesn't work in a big exhibition hall.
