Question for any spannering wizards.
Any idea of the torque setting for a 20 mm x 1.5 thread, brass going into aluminium, please?

Cali sump drain plug. Guzzi workshop manual's as much use as the Karma Sutra is to a eunuch.

Depends on how thick the aluminium is etc. For something like a sump plug I'd do finger tight + quarter turn and always fit a new crush washer.

Dammit I went back to tell him that and someone else had already said it!  I oughtn't to be surprised tho, bloke who taught me a lot about spannering had been building bikes all his life and had never owned a torque wrench - "Finger tight, quarter turn, and just nip it up" was his mantra.

Yeah I forgot that Martin has problems with his hands - he can't really feel when something is 'finger tight' which is why he relies on the torque wrench
