Hi all Trikers. I am applying for a pitch at popham on the 16th august

Terry - what time do we have to be there to be on the stand?  Do you know yet?

It opens at 10am so any time before that. I am aiming to get there for about 9am :o

That means an early start. I will have to leave home by 9.40 !  :D

Yikes!  8.30 start for me!  I shall hope for a fine day so I kip on the grass when I get there!  ;)

Only 3 week away now ;) there is over night camping if required.  8). will you be ready Craig ;) and Andy ;D

Well I intend to be there. Three weeks should be enough time to get the clutch sorted out :)

plan to be terry. hoping the trike is ready for the weekend then a couple weeks of test rides and popham will probably be her first big ride out  ;D.
then just have to hope that work dont get in the way  :-\

I should have the XS650 chop there but not finished I'm afraid. Hopefully some new paint & engine casings since the Basingstoke show though.

Not looking likely that I'll make it Terry, almost certainly won't have the trike sorted in time.

Thanks for hanging onto it but no, trike's not fixed yet.  I'm hoping to come up in the car as a punter if the weather's ok though so I might see you.

Hi terry. What's the score for Sunday? Believe we are listed as Portsmouth Trikers? Will the guys on the gate know where to direct us to. Like they did at Basingstoke show. All the organisers there knew of MMM. Reputation precedes and all that??    ;D
Obviously have to remember to bring pass.

Don't forget we need a pass for Tom's XS650, (being built by Lunatic), Terry. Should we give you a shout when we get to the gate?

A little way before the entrance is a country lane to Overton. Have met a lot of folk along there who have turned too early.
The airfield has a brick and flint walled entrance.

Just before the Barton Stacey services on the 303.

That's what I meant by directions..last time I missed the turn and drove past ..oops.. :-\

Tom & I were at the workshop till 9.30 this evening putting our bikes together! Not running, just mocked up for the show. Got to load them in a van in the morning. See you around 9.30 Terry.  ;)

Well mrs stinkey and I managed to get to the show finally met up with some of you other monkeys..and thanks to Bob for the handbrake ..how cool is that ? Another thing off my list to buy..we thoroughly enjoyed the show..bigger than I thought it was..although she did struggle to push my wheelchair ( bless her ) my benidorm buggy threw a hissy fit this morning and refused to go

That's ok Dave. thank you for all coming, there was 13 trikes and 1 bike on the pitch was 3 bikes but 2 deserted us no names.
met Stinky and Maria and had Craig's trike on display. showing Stumpy's hard work and must say it look the and sounded nice.
There was a good turn out at popham.  the weather helped as it was just right.
looking forward to next year ;D

I'm glad it went well for you. Weather was certainly in your favour. Just gutted I couldn't make it  I was looking forward to it.

Mark sorry you couldn't make it yes it was a good turn out for my 1st show with Portsmouth trikers hope not to be the last.checking whats on and where.   there is an event at shoreham on the 22nd aug not sure about that yet ???

Yup, thanks for the tickets from Tom & me too Terry -yeah, we were the ones who deserted the pitch!
Tom & I are both building Yamaha XS650s, but in completely different styles. Neither one's finished yet, (of course), so I rented a van to ferry them the 6 miles to Popham. Somehow Tom managed to lose a handlebar grip in that time -how does that happen in the back of an 8 foot square van?!
Having parked up with Terry & the Portsmouth Trikers, we wandered across to the autojumble & immediately found a guy specialising in XS650 parts. Tom wanted some cables & bits & pieces but because it's not a standard bike, didn't know what lengths he needed -can I just nip over to my bike & try this for size? And this. And this.
Tell you what, why don't you just bring the bikes over here.
So we did. We discussed our advertising fee for bringing in extra punters to his stall, but oddly, it worked out to exactly the same amount as his storage/bike minding fee.
Nice to see everyone, as always -almost an alternative MMMotors forum gathering  :) There was another auto show in Basingstoke on Sunday -the "Endless days of Summer" VW show, which Tom wanted to go to, so we jumped in the van & nipped back for an hour or so, managing to miss Mr & Mrs Stinkey in the process. Oh, & Markju, I actually remembered to bring the MMMotors stickers along for you & you weren't there! There were actually 3 auto events in the area that day -Milestones Museum in Basingstoke was also hosting a vintage commercial vehicle run, so lots of interesting vehicles about.
Best sight of the day- the guy towing a light aircraft up the runway with his trike.
A lovely sunny day, lots of bikes to look at & stuff I don't need to buy, but still did & ice cream to be slurped & friendly people to say Hi to. A good day.
