Title: Sd1 vs cortina power steering rack Post by: minimutly on March 11, 2015, 08:15:46 PM Anyone got any info on the relative dimensions/swappability of these two racks?
I've got involved in a challenger kit car, between the owner and so-called rebuilder, and it needs a power steering rack to replace the original cortina rack. The problem is, cortina pwr steering racks are non existent, so looking for an alternative which needs to be the same width so as not to blow the geometry. Title: Re: Sd1 vs cortina power steering rack Post by: the coppersmith on March 12, 2015, 10:10:57 AM I have used a Granada power rack on a kit car with the pump driven off the belt, think it was a Pinto 2.0 engine. Had to modify the track rod ends, length etc. Nothing to challenging.

The original rack was cortina non powered, but the v6 cortina one is unobtainable.
