Title: Re: Dumb question number 1 Post by: Stix on March 06, 2015, 02:29:24 PM A long thin screwdriver push it in from the open end once in raise it up a bit and squirt some wd40 or duck oil in there and give them a good twist, make sure to clean them out if you are going to re-use them.

Little bit of glue but don't overdo it.Upholstery glue will do it and give you time to get them on properly. Makes your bike smell nice too :) And how did you find that out :) Title: Re: Dumb question number 1 Post by: Manky Monkey on March 06, 2015, 07:32:22 PM :) Old trick passed on to me by an ageing biker when I was a teenager after I found a can of hairspray in his toolbox. :P
Title: Re: Dumb question number 1 Post by: Dslam on March 06, 2015, 07:52:12 PM Hairspray works. I have no hair to speak of but luckily Mrs Dslam still has some but rough up a small area for it to grip to as shiny chrome is not the best surface.
I just read that back. I didn't mean rough up mrs Dslam. Oh poo you know what I mean. ;) Title: Re: Dumb question number 1 Post by: Manky Monkey on March 06, 2015, 08:39:10 PM I've met Mrs Dslam & I wouldn't dare!
Title: Re: Dumb question number 1 Post by: lunatic on March 07, 2015, 10:26:03 AM I've always used hairspray since my old bmx days. Slide a thin screwdriver down the grip, lil squirt of hairspray, twist the grip an off it comes!
Title: Re: Dumb question number 1 Post by: trev on March 08, 2015, 12:21:00 PM I use soapy water to put grips on,works a treat and doesn,t harm the rubber.
