Title: electrickery Post by: the coppersmith on December 12, 2014, 10:27:58 AM Pulled a small job at the Tungsten mine yesterday and they have Electric trucks. Speaking to the engineer and he reckons that with the new technology available they are able to get 100 miles and 60mph out of the newest one, interesting thing is they dont half shift to get up to speed, not like the old milk floats. Leccie hot rod anyone??

http://www.mankymonkeymotors.co.uk/Hotrodpageimages/electric/beetle.html I think it's come on quite a long way since we featured it. Title: Re: electrickery Post by: Manky Monkey on December 13, 2014, 11:16:46 PM A message from my brother, Mr Brock:
Sam and Ollie, (the VW Beetle builders), went on to hold a world record for quickest "street bodied" electric car, apparently also beating a Veyron in a 0 - 60 test, somewhere in the 1.5 second region. It's also worth a quick search on Google for Don Garlits' new venture, a fully developed electric dragster. Pretty impressive. Title: Re: electrickery Post by: phunkie hiboy on December 14, 2014, 09:28:42 AM Quick electric vehicles have been out there for a while. The reason that they accelerate so quickly is because maximum torque is available as soon as the "throttle" is cracked.

Think I may just have a base vehicle to play with.
