Title: Reliant axle tube replacements Post by: J.C on July 21, 2014, 12:15:19 PM Hi All, returning after long absence to ask the collective for some guidance please.
Tubes on "girlie's" trike have been damaged/crushed by thoughtless fitting. Basically used U bolt through to a block fitting & as localised pressure /age etc, looks as if one of the U bolts has "sawn through with movement & vibration. (soft tail CX500). Only saw it as she pulled up & noticed a drip from back end of trike & saw the damage!! Seen various comments via this forum & would feel a whole lot better by swapping out existing tubes & upgrading to heavier wall tube or Stainless, as the thought of a repair in that location just smells of nasty things happening on the road :o Then next job is to replace the "clamp" system that gives a better spread of load & less crush factor. So bottom line is , anyone got a link/ contact or has done similar that can give me a price etc. Fairly good with the dark art of bike electrics & whirly things, but not so hot on sparkly burny stuff lol ::) Thanks JC Title: Re: Reliant axle tube replacements Post by: saex69 on July 21, 2014, 06:17:48 PM Hi All, returning after long absence to ask the collective for some guidance please.
