 EBAY INC. TO ASK EBAY USERS TO CHANGE ACCOUNTS/PASSWORDS

Earlier today eBay Inc. announced it is aware of unauthorized access to eBay systems that may have exposed some customer information. There is no evidence that financial data was compromised and there is no evidence that PayPal or our customers have been affected by the unauthorized access to eBay systems. We are working with the law.

Yes, just read it. Took a fortnight to tell us.

I love the film Sneakers with Robert Redford and Sidney Poitier. It's all about security,  hacking and encryption. "Too Many Secrets" is one of the themes of the film. I think "Too Many (bloody) Passwords" is mine.

We didn't get told about this by Ebay, changed our password because it was in the newspaper - wonder if it's really true?

My parents phoned me this evening, apparently it was on the 6 o'clock news tonight.

Yes but Ebay haven't told us anything, and there's no message when we log in.....

I have got one of those but the code is so good that if I do forget a password I have trouble working out what I wrote.  ???

My bank login is the worst. I figure if anybody is hacking my computer (:o), that by the bank asking for different characters of my memorable info on a regular basis, any watcher should have the whole thing by now! Passwords are bad enough but with memorable info, I  have to resort to counting my fingers to work out which character the bank is asking for! So sad.

Just logged in to EBay and guess what,A message advising me to change my password,
It took them long enough.

ebay contacted me a couple of weeks ago as there was a listing put on my account (a 10k jcb) that was out of character/differant from my nowmal ebay qse, == yep my details had been ,hacked, they asked me not to tell anyone at the time whilst they investigated and tried to catch the offender.
they advised that i changed all passwords etc , especially those that protect financial or sensative data .

I aint got no financial data, self employed cash in hand, boys from the black stuff, I think it was called the lump back then ;) and sensitive? me? :o
