Title: barrel of fun Post by: triker_Chewie on May 18, 2014, 08:04:23 PM one for the wee-uns
inspired by (http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f291/chewie66666/BigAls201220030_zpsa9971869.jpg) marked up (http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f291/chewie66666/IMG_20140512_105827_zps6ca7344d.jpg) cut made with a jigsaw (http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f291/chewie66666/IMG_20140512_111527_zpsaf65278b.jpg) frame 25x50 (http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f291/chewie66666/IMG_20140513_131903_zps0761b66b.jpg) the front and rear "suspension" will be attached thru the barrel to give a look of no chassis wanted a flat edge for a edge strip. clamped a 10mm plate to it and tapped with an 'ammer (http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f291/chewie66666/IMG_20140512_114811_zps8cb21bab.jpg) looks much better in real life. (http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f291/chewie66666/IMG_20140512_114644_zpsd9596e78.jpg) looking at the cut out section to become a bomber seat and made a stainless "roll bar" to go over the drivers head have big quad bike wheels for the back and some smaller scooter wheels for the back My girls are well excited and have even come up with flaming skull-heart graphics for the sides! this is a frame extension out the front of the barrel. wide end is 75mm tapered to around 40 a 10mm plate is welded into the wide end to drill and tap for mounting to the barrel Title: Re: barrel of fun Post by: triker_Chewie on June 01, 2014, 01:11:49 PM over zealous grinding means that ive undercut these welds. they were full penetration but are thinned too far i feel.
am in the process of re-making them Title: Re: barrel of fun Post by: Manky Monkey on June 01, 2014, 09:35:44 PM Better safe than sorry mate -probably a bit late to say that when you've already set fire to yourself!
