Title: HTV Racings support vehicle Post by: panthershaun on November 24, 2013, 10:11:39 AM OK so we seem to have a new breed amongst us MM's.. what with basic hotrods and now home built campers.. well I can't claim the credit for the build of mine but thought it was well worth a looksee as we have a couple of threads going.. totally hand built by an unknown chap using all the best stuff...

Title: Re: HTV Racings support vehicle Post by: panthershaun on November 24, 2013, 10:17:46 AM :D sleeping is snug to say the least and I've yet to work out how to get the hound up to the bed at night!!! 2 things that are missing are a fridge and a heater which I'm working on over the winter.. may well remove the cooker and fit a fridge with a small stove above (insulated between the 2) and I'm looking a fitting a split charging system and a solar panel on the roof...
Title: Re: HTV Racings support vehicle Post by: scannerzer on November 24, 2013, 10:32:21 AM well laid out, very nice but was thinking the bed look a bit claustrophobic. the shower and toilet looks to be a good size too
Title: Re: HTV Racings support vehicle Post by: panthershaun on November 24, 2013, 10:55:16 AM bed is OK if you don't mind the roof being 18 inches away.. bathroom is superb... the only wway I can see to improve the bed would be to get rid of the bike shed, but the whole point of me getting the van was to haul the Saltster about... maybe a smaller van and a box trailer might have been a better idea!!!

Title: Re: HTV Racings support vehicle Post by: Manky Monkey on November 24, 2013, 11:48:33 AM My last girlfriend Tanya, (Tazet here on the forum), & I drove a horsebox up to Yorkshire to collect a pony one weekend. Had to sleep overnight in the lorry, in a bed over the cab. Possibly the worst night's sleep I've ever had. Very, very claustrophobic. Like laying in a suitcase with the lid shut. The roof was literally 6 inches above us. In the end I had to climb down & sleep on the floor. Woke up in the morning to find it, & me, crawling with ants. Not a good trip. Bed & breakfast/hotel for me in future. I don't do the camping/vanning thing.
Title: Re: HTV Racings support vehicle Post by: The North on November 24, 2013, 01:58:45 PM We have a VWlt35 van we are slowly turning into a trials bike come sea fishing recreational van, its a good drive was my work van for a wile but started using 4x4 and trailer more and more so absorbed it into the ever growing pile of tat we call project vile, with free time being at an all time low at the moment, lord knows when half our stuff will ever get done. Every spare moment grafting its god in one way but not for freedom. Cant speak for anybody else who works for themselves on here, but boy its getting harder up here, to get by. We have a rental that pays a little money but if it were not for that i would be tied to a firm and i would hate to go back to that, years on the council left me with a bitter tase of the 9 to 5. :(
